Another year another art vs artist! 🖼️👩🎨
I always enjoy looking back on the work I’ve done & seeing how it changes over time
This year I brought back the needle felting! Not as many creature designs as I had imagined I would create, but this year I am at the beginning of my Patreon “Creatures for Conservation” so we will have a guaranteed 12 creatures for 2026!! :D
I also met my goal last year (or at least partially) of creating pixel art for games! I originally set out to make little mini games featuring my creature designs, but I ended up finding an awesomely talented team and creating @friendliest.skunk with them 🦨🌸 (Free demo out on steam now!!)
Another thing I am really excited and grateful for are the freelance opportunities that came my way this year. Because of my reach on Instagram I was able to have people find me and request work that really aligns with what I love to do! My first card illustrations, and creating designs with the intention of giving back to wildlife and spreading love for animals :D
(Also a sneak peak at my felted commissions, I will post more photos soon! :))
Going into 2026 I will continue creating work with a purpose, highlighting our unique wildlife and sharing some whimsy ✨💫

I dropped everting when I saw @ipaintbirbs doing a paint along stream with @alveussanctuary 🌸🪺

Monthly animal collab! This time with a creature inspired by my chosen animal, the mosquito 🦟✨
The full scientific name of the specific mosquito I took most inspiration from is Sabethes cyaneus. They have such beautiful iridescence and I was surprised to find that there were mosquitos that looked so purrrdyy 🦋💞
Mosquitos are commonly disliked (fair), but I think that they do have qualities that we can appreciate as well as understanding their role in ecosystems. Mosquitos are actually pollinators, with only the females feeding on blood, which is necessary for their babies. While there is debate about wether ecosystems really need mosquitos, we can always appreciate a pollinated plant 🌱
I’m no fan of being bitten, but I do think these guys can be pretty cool when I take the time to notice what makes them unique :)

My late monthly animal collab post! Featuring the Shingleback Skink 🦎💞
This one was for February, so we went with animals that mate for life as the theme! 💌
I wanted to find an animal that I was surprised to find out they mate for life, and I came across the shingle back skink! I already loved these animals, but didn’t know that they form pair bonds for years on end.
Definitely unique for a lizard on top of their head shaped tail that I love :)

I have been an Alveus fan for 3 years now and I love the work they do to celebrate and educate about the life we have on earth! I have learned so much from them and spent much of my time with the animals on the live cams, so I always do my best to capture the whimsy that Alveus Sanctuary brings me :)
I also do my best for the community! I have met such sweet people through Alveus. I always want to create something that everyone will enjoy, and that represents what we love about the animals on the live cams 💞🐸

Oogi Huali for this month’s creature! 🐠✨
These are another subspecies of Huali with the Arrowhead Huali being the first created.
This species is recognized by their head shape as well! “Ogee” is the name of a shape in design, which is represented in the shape of this creatures head. I had misremembered this term as “oogi,” but I think I like it better, so in this world it means the same :)
Inspired by the anatomy of bee stingers and many types of rays and skates. For the markings I took from the ornate eagle ray! Very beautiful sea creatures that have these intricate water-like patterns 🌊
