Preparations are underway on Sheppey for ‘Good Tidings’ this weekend! Over the past six months artists Simone Kenyon (@kenyon.projects ), Rebecca Lee (@beakerthon ) and Bethany Wells have been working with the people of Sheerness to create a new ceremonial ritual for Sheppey. ‘Good Tidings’ will commence on Saturday at midday at The Clock Tower with a song and a procession as part of Sheerness Seaside Festival. We’re still looking for volunteers to help carry our 40 foot Tidal Dial shipping rope (much bigger than the one pictured!) from here along the sea wall to Ship-on-Shore Beach. It’s also not too late to join the musical accompaniment and help perform a new community-written song, so if you’re interested in joining this new ritual, get in touch or simply show up on the day. All abilities welcome - we need all hands on deck! Once at the beach, a buoyant net, tethered between land and sea, will weave together voices, stories and history from the folk of Sheppey and be cast off every hour from high tide at 13:32 to low tide at 19:32. Join us here for activities all afternoon - netting and knotting techniques, more music, and to contribute your ‘Good Tidings’ for Sheppey to this collective ritual. → Saturday 9 August → Meet at Sheerness Clock Tower at midday for the Rope Walk and performance → Then find us at the beach cove by Ship-on-Shore from 13.32-19:32 → Free, all ages and abilities welcome → Email [email protected] to get involved See you there! 👣

Getting this on the grid now for friends or colleagues who missed the stories around release date. I made a new Bredbeddle track for this epic 32-track international compilation, initiated by @outsiderspeaks to raise funds for grassroots transition support initiatives across the UK. You get new music AND support the trans community. Two of the best things. This is a time of escalating attacks, erosion of trans rights and the legitimisation of anti-trans hate. All profits from the sale of these 32 tracks will be donated to grassroots transition support initiatives helping trans people in the UK - particularly those trans people who belong to Black, Asian, multiple ethnicity, transfeminine, immigrant, and working class identities. Please support the project but Click though the link in my bio to buy. Thank you to @outsiderspeaks for bringing everyone together, to @izzymcpheeaudio for mastering all 32 tracks and @steph.dutton the album artwork.

INTERWORLD presents... BREDBEDDLE Bredbeddle is Rebecca Lee, an artist, composer and musician based in Nottingham, UK. Across two albums as Bredbeddle, ‘Steps on the Turning Year’ (Bezirk, 2021) and ‘Stackes’ (Fractal Meat Cuts, 2017) her work merges composition and collage. Fragments from her record collection, found sounds and diaristic recordings become parts of a score, building blocks to be written onto a timeline to create something new. While perhaps reminiscent of plunderphonics aesthetically, there is a musicality and narrative coherence to her songs that is distinct from an aleatoric or poetic montaging of sounds. Strands of harmony and melody, of similarity and juxtaposition, are pulled from unexpected places. Held up for contemplation and then strung together into intricate pieces. Often manifesting as long-form, durational compositions, Bredbeddle’s process is rooted in seeing archives as a launching off point. Recorded material as a site of potential rather than an end point frozen in time and context. “…a skewed prism, giving interesting and often poignant new perspectives on recognizable sounds, breathing a new essence into the familiar,” - Brad Rose, Foxy Digitalis ⚠️ Only FOUR SLEEPS to go until we bring @niknakdjmusic , @beakerthon and @flight_coda to @cads_sheff – this is set to be an extra-special night, so get your tickets now (Skiddle or RA, link in bio) and join us in twiddling the corporeal hardware of "synths" and "media" to glimpse under the veil into the ethereal soul-planes within us all 🌌 We're waiting for you 💞

INTERWORLD presents: NikNak, Bredbeddle, Flight Coda @ CADS We are super psyched to be hosting at @cads_sheff Leeds musical polymath NikNak, with support from Nottingham’s Bredbeddle and Sheffield-based Flight Coda! Join us for an evening of experimental electronics centring on re-formed recordings, dreamy mashups and archival excavations… NIKNAK NikNak has carved a niche for herself in the music industry with her distinctive turntablism, immersive compositions, and captivating improvised performances. Heralded by the likes of DJ Mag, Clash, The Wire and Resident Advisor, her debut album Bashi garnered critical acclaim, positioning her as one to watch in the experimental electronic music scene. Her fourth album Ireti was released on Matthew Herbert’s label Accidental Records in 2024 and was named one of the year’s best albums by Mixmag and Bandcamp. With a reconstructed arsenal of futuristic breakbeats, turntablism, and dubby delays, expect the unexpected from this genre-dismantling selector. @niknakdjmusic BREDBEDDLE Bredbeddle is Rebecca Lee, an artist, composer and musician. Across the albums ‘Steps on the Turning Year’ and ‘Stackes’, her work merges composition and collage using sampled sounds played back through various physical formats. Strands of harmony and melody are pulled from unexpected places and juxtaposed, held up for contemplation and then strung together into intricate pieces. Often manifesting as long-form compositions, her process is rooted in seeing archives as a launching-off point: recorded material as a site of potential, rather than an endpoint frozen in time and context. @beakerthon FLIGHT CODA One of multiple projects from Jonathan George Fox, Flight Coda sees them exploring and re-sampling synth loops, field recordings and other personal archival material. On albums “a window at night the 27th” and “there’s a planet on your chest”, celestial drones and melodies merge to form soundscapes that feel both fragile and all-encompassing, mysterious and comforting. @flight_coda Friday 13 June, 7pm CADS Arley St, Sheffield S24QP £10 / £12 / £15 OTD Tickets via Skiddle ℹ️Please note this is a seated event ⚠️Flashing images and loud sounds

What the….?! So this, very unexpectedly, is happening on Friday! I’m delighted to have been asked to support Richard Dawson. Feels weird to share when it’s all sold out, but maybe if you have a ticket this means you can be extra excited or just plan to arrive late if you’re not into wobbly, folk turntable loops and stuff - up to you! I’m going to do some bits and pieces I’ve not done for a while but I think will go well - lmk if you happen to be going! @richarddawsonofficial @metronomenotts

Hi! Ok. I saw in the coming of spring with a bout of Norovirus. But also wanted to share some sounds because it’s nice to share and despite illness, this has been a good week. So here are three lots of unedited improvisations I recorded last year but have not yet done anything with. Maybe it’ll be an exciting insight into my *creative process or maybe it’s a quick way for me to get 60 mins of music together. You can decide. There no titles, just some notes I made in the tracks. Please enjoy: Folk violin overload Warped banjo Piano bird drone dance Today at 9pm CET / 8pm GMT, visit my bio or @camp_fr bio for link to listen live and later. * @lukeharby I’m glad that I know that at least you might actually be interested!

Seems like I’m just about keeping this up. And despite January being about three thousand weeks long, I still ended up needing to get this one together in record time. Which meant I reached for all the things close at hand in the studio and in my brain. This is, *just in time* one especially for endless January which feels like the end and also the beginning - some 70s yoga guidance and Percy Thrower helping you in your winter garden. I’m a bit late sharing this* but if you’d like to listen again to Bredbeddling from December 28th, it’s up on the @listen.camp website - you can listen via the link in my biog. In the past, my winter lists have been still and reflective, but I’ve found it more soothing to move around this past month, so the show is music I’ve enjoyed moving or walking to recently. Please enjoy a wiggle or stomp out to these until next time. TRACKS Misha Panfilov - Jogo Tara Clerking Trio - The Turning Ground Trevor Watts, Moiré Music Drum Orchestra - Bomsu Oumou Sangaré - Donso Tom Zé - Mã Jimi Tenor - Spell Regalado - Pinoy Funk Betty Davis - F.U.N.K. I’m over it now, but bloody hell.
