Yesterday, we were proud to support the @phrenaissance and the George “Spider” Anderson Festival as part of this year’s Preakness festivities.
As a sponsor of Preakness, the Baltimore Development Corporation remains committed to supporting initiatives that drive equitable growth, celebrate Baltimore’s culture, and create lasting impact for communities like Park Heights.
Thank you to the organizers, partners, businesses, and community leaders who helped make the event a success and kept the spirit of Preakness rooted in Baltimore.
Signed.
It was an honor to stand in Annapolis alongside Delegate @mark_edelson , BDC CEO, @orolley , my leadership team, and so many others committed to Baltimore’s renaissance as Governor @govwesmoore , Senate President @senbillferg , and Speaker @jpenamelnyk signed the Downtown RISE District PILOT legislation into law.
This is a powerful tool that unlocks a ten-year window to invest in a waterfront city on the RISE.
Public-private partnership at its best.
To every member of this ecosystem who worked to make this happen, THANK YOU.

A defining night for Baltimore.
Pier Six Pavilion is officially back.
The waterfront came alive with a ribbon cutting and free community concert celebrating a new chapter for one of Baltimore’s most iconic destinations.
Thank you to The Finn Group, Knitting Factory Entertainment, Mayor Brandon Scott, Atlantic Union Bank, and everyone who helped make this moment possible.
Baltimore is building what’s next.

Spending the morning with city leadership, developers, and partners at the @downtownbaltimore State of Downtown Breakfast made one thing clear, there is real alignment around where downtown is headed.
We’re seeing vision drive movement and investment, with a clear, shared understanding that downtown is leading Baltimore’s growth.
This work is already underway, and we’re continuing to turn that alignment into deal flow, development, and long-term vibrancy.

Shoutout to the BDC team who showed up and showed out for @TipsyScoop ’s grand opening.
One of the first businesses to receive a microloan as we return to lending. Packed crowd, great concept, and a reminder of what it looks like to invest in Baltimore.
This is the work. And we’re just getting started.
Make sure you stop by and support.

Mayor Brandon Scott and President and CEO Otis Rolley in Annapolis in support of legislation aimed at strengthening investment and development in downtown Baltimore. Leaders from the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, the Baltimore Convention Center, and the National Aquarium were also present as part of ongoing efforts focused on the future of downtown.
“My inspiration was to share the food that I love with a city that I love… and find a way to simplify West African food so more people could experience it.”

An incredible day in Annapolis advocating for a PILOT to increase development activity in Downtown Baltimore.
A coalition of organizations including the @bdcbaltimore , @downtownbaltimore , @baltimoreconventioncenter , and the @nationalaquarium , led by @mayorbmscott , showed up with powerful testimonies and a shared vision for our city’s future.
The only questions of the day: Will this be better than Pittsburgh? And if passed, would making it an emergency bill help accelerate impact?
That says everything.
Thank you to the bill sponsors @senatormccray and Delegate @mark_edelson , and bill co-sponsors Delegates @marlonamprey , @reginatboyce , @embry4delegate , @robbynlewis46th , and @seanstinnett0541 for your leadership and commitment to Baltimore’s future.
Let’s go team. Let’s go Downtown Baltimore. #DowntownRise
From panels to pop-ups, CIAA Weekend was about business, community, and momentum.
At the CIAA Money Moves Financial Summit, Roy Broderick Jr., Chief Business Development Officer of Baltimore Development Corporation, joined leaders across sectors to discuss sustainable small business growth and real economic opportunity in Baltimore.
The conversation was moderated by Mark A. Thomas, President & CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, and included:

- Sona Gandhi, Director of Economic Impact, Office of Government, Community & Economic Partnerships, Johns Hopkins University & Medicine

We also celebrated local entrepreneurship at our Made in Baltimore pop-up, connecting homegrown brands with residents and visitors in the heart of the action.
BDC showed up, engaged with the community, supported business owners, and helped welcome thousands experiencing Baltimore’s culture and economic opportunity.
CIAA is more than a tournament. It is an economic driver, and Baltimore continues to rise.
