Enjoyed running this VP & volume operator skills workshop showing some of the latest workflows at the @quitebrilliant volume at @twickenhamstudios A good old dive into the on-set layering tools in @assimilateinc LiveFX for live adjustments & layering on the wall - and was attended by quite the elite bunch of curious & savvy ops & supes - thanks to all who came!

This was a cool vp demo shoot I supervised last year, working with DoP @ianmurraydop , using the volume for atmospheric backlighting & glow, at @filmsoho @vstudiosoho mixing real fire, with virtual fire & and Mimiks for IBL 🔥

Bit of fun here demonstrating 3D virtual control at @vstudiosoho @filmsoho ;) a peek at my latest ‘vp ready environments’ ( supervisor approved! ping me for info ). This one built in collab with @loucoomberdesign . Now in 2026, volume shooting is becoming simpler, refined & instantly controllable. Finally how it’s meant to be!

Proud to say we’ve designed & installed a highly refined VP stage at this one for car process, dialog pickups & commercials - plus car turntable, 360 plates playback, wireless multicam tracking & next gen control. And superb team in there too. Roll on the first shoot next week!

We’re thrilled to announce Chris Bouchard as the director of Ren: The Girl with the Mark episode 305, shooting next spring. Chris directed the hit fan film The Hunt for Gollum (2009) and crime comedy Hackney’s Finest (2014), and co-directed The Little Mermaid (2018). He’s also working in the exciting field of virtual production! Excited to announce I’m starting a new role as a Freelance Virtual Production Supervisor - with my new service co Boosh Virtual! TM tbc ;) The past year and a bit I’ve supervised a number of Volume shoots and demos working with the lovely crew at Final Pixel - where I had the privilege of establishing the WorldBuilders VAD team. (A bunch of talented and super lovely folks - do check out their work, some of it below!). For the next chapter, I’ll be supervising Volume shoots around the UK & Europe, working with Designers & DPs, advising Producers on the best stages or tech for their project, and ensuring quality volume operation, crew and blending is delivered to the highest technical quality.
