Came away from the new location of @southbbq more impressed than any previous visit. Andrew Samia has built a great, reliable, and reasonably priced ($30/lb brisket!) joint for the neighborhood in San Antonio

What a meal yesterday morning at @burntbeanco . Thanks to @mrbravo365 for joining me for the 2 hours in line (only 2 people in front of us at 9:00). Steak frites (beef back ribs brushed with house made steak sauce), Chinese sticky ribs, incredible burnt ends and plenty more that’s not pictured

LIVE FIRE SEASON FINALE: Daniel Vaughn What happens when the man behind Texas’ most influential BBQ list sits down to talk about the culture he helps shape? In this episode of Live Fire, host LC sits down with Daniel Vaughn—the barbecue editor of Texas Monthly and the voice behind the legendary Top 50 BBQ List. With nearly 200 barbecue joints visited across Texas, Daniel has become one of the most trusted—and powerful—figures in BBQ. Whether he likes it or not, his rankings shape where people travel, what they eat, and which pitmasters rise to national prominence. But this conversation goes deeper than brisket. Daniel shares: • How a kid from Ohio found his way into Texas BBQ culture • Why storytelling matters more than just great food • The humility at the heart of every great pitmaster • How the Top 50 list actually comes together • Why the search for great barbecue is getting harder—not easier Each episode of this series will build towards Lockhart Rising on May 9th. If you'd like to see Daniel and other guests of the show, come out and feel the fire. For more information checkout @lockhartrising

So many questions in my DM’s about this @salt_hanks French dip, so I’ll answer them here. Yes, it is $34. It’s expensive, but I’ve probably paid more for a steak of similar weight to the generous prime rib that goes into this sandwich. Every element of the sandwich - meat, cheese, bread, caramelized onions, horseradish sauce, and the rich au jus - are all carefully prepared, and it comes through in the whole. An excellent sandwich that I’m glad a sought out. At 1:00 today there was no line and no wait to get a sandwich at the counter. I didn’t get fries because I didn’t want to distract from the sandwich. Get one and savor it

The original Cooper’s opened in Mason in 1953. The Estes family has run it since 2014, and they’re still cooking the same way as when it was founded: Direct-heat BBQ over mesquite coals. @coopersoriginalmasontx

Love the new @lawrencebarbecue space in Cary, NC. The food is incredible as well. Perfectly tender ribs, juicy brisket, and stellar chicken wings. Lots of menu options here

Loved everything about Keaton’s Barbecue. Like an oasis in the forest outside of Cleveland, NC. Despite the name, the dipped chicken they specialize in is not smoked. It’s deep fried, and it’s fantastic.

What @elliottmoss and his crew have done at @elliottsflorence is truly spectacular. They celebrated their 1 year anniversary recently, and it’s already one of the best BBQ joints in the country. Doing so much so well with skill and heart. Get there.
