I’m very excited to share my thesis exhibition, opening March 27 from 6–10pm @mark_christopher_gallery Gathering works shaped by care, kinship, memory, and protection. Here, sunlight appears as a warmth exchanged between kin, held so long it becomes part of the soul, a tenderness that time cannot evict. Rooted in Kapwa, a core Filipino value of a shared inner self, this body of work moves beyond the singular “I” and toward relation: to ancestors, to family, to flora and fauna, to protection, and to the fragile but enduring networks that allow life to be held. Featuring works by Patrick Cruz @gentrified_amateur Philip Leonard Ocampo @philip.ocampo Miguel Caba @miguellcaba Seden Lai @sedensworkshop Aida De Guia Curated by (me!) and presented by Mark Christopher Please join us to celebrate on opening night 🍀 March 27th to April 17 Poster Design by @philip.ocampo Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 5pm or by appointment (dm or email me!) Gallery is closed April 10 and April 12th

Asia Ruggiero (@bbglowball ) is an interdisciplinary artist and curator from Toronto that brings the fleeting wonder of her imagination to life through crafting realities that incite others to enter a world of play and creativity. Using whimsical elements and references in her work, Asia blends the use of practical & easily accessible tools and techniques to bring her creations to life. Whether it be characters, food packaging, mascots, foods, or other - the universe that Asia has let us into radiates joy, childlike wonder, and hyper femininity in a unique and inviting way that’s difficult to not become utterly obsessed with. as sweet as could possibly be, we ❤️ @bbglowball

My Lola, meaning grandmother in Filipino, was an incredibly talented card maker. She began this practice as a teenager in the Philippines, transforming discarded materials into beautiful handmade cards. What might have been thrown away, she gave new life to with her hands. Her practice was shaped by resourcefulness and thrift, but also by a deep belief in transformation and an instinctive, unconditional care for others. She remembered birthdays, names, and the smallest details with remarkable devotion, making and writing cards for people after only the briefest encounter. Friends, family, and acquaintances near and far were touched by this sustained act of care. She never let anyone or anything waste away. She is always at the center of my heart, and is the main inspiration behind my thesis exhibition. Two of her handmade cards will be on display amongst a group of incredibly talented, smart and caring Asian artists. Transformation, healing and protection are thread through all the works. 🇵🇭☀️❤️ Opening is tomorrow, March 27th, 6-10pm @mark_christopher_gallery

While Hearth usually programs four exhibitions in accordance with the seasons, this year we’re excited to be hosting some additional shorter-run exhibitions and projects sprinkled between flagship projects. Beginning with... Perhaps I should keep this to myself February 7th,  - March 2nd, 2026 Opening reception: Saturday, February 7th, 7PM - 10PM Work by Sofia Arév, Emerald Repard-Denniston, and Jobelle Quijano Curated by Asia Ruggiero and Kay Rangel Systems often provoke resistance; we learn to object. But what occurs when regulation reaches into the erotic? Doubt emerges, a relationship blooms between secrecy and the pursuit of desire. To surrender is not to yield, but to allow desire to shift—from an isolated condition into a shared field of intensity and resonance. Space is opened for complex forms of love that are layered and demanding, refusing erasure while acknowledging what is asked of non-white lovers navigating a racist, patriarchal, and anti-erotic gaze. The gallery space acts as a confessionary, we seek to unveil. Here lies a secret, I surrender it to you, my love, still beating, still mine. Perhaps I should keep this to myself...  Please come out and celebrate with us! See you there 💕
