Serving with purpose! 🤍 Each week, our team volunteers with Bridges of Norman, supporting individuals and families in our local community through hands-on service. Through Serve-It Sooner, we also support Big Brothers Big Sisters by contributing a portion of our proceeds to their mission of mentoring and empowering youth.

I know a lot of folks might think I am over glorifying being in this magazine article.. but I am SO proud. Proud of our organization, proud of our mission, proud of our Bigs, proud of our Littles, and Dangit.. I’m proud of me. . For anyone who has known me throughout my life.. they know that the life I lead now is probably surprising, and not what you would’ve (or I would’ve,) expected out of myself when I graduated high school. BUT, I have always been wildly passionate.. a dreamer, a weirdo, a controversial “say it how I feel it and see it” kinda gal- regardless of what people think-, a woman who is chaotic, wild, and sure, maybe even a little crazy, but, I am absolutely okay with all of those labels because it means that I fight for what I believe in and the people I believe in. . I’ve lived many lives in my (almost) 35 years. I’ve loved every chapter in my book, and when I tell you this might be one of my favorite because of what I get to do everyday, I’m not fibbing. I get to go to work, or go to a meeting, or go on the news, or go to the Capitol, and show up as the messy, chaotic, raw, passionate woman I am.. and because of THAT, this “come hell or highwater” gal keeps fighting to make a difference in a child’s life, and baby.. I have hit my stride. . I might not have my own kids, but I have hundreds counting on me, and that fuels my fire day in and day out. . I have had SO many people show up for me throughout my life, especially after my dads accident, and I believe with every ounce of my soul that we all deserve THAT person, and that opportunity, which is why I am so obnoxiously over the moon about the impact our mission has on the lives of the children in our community and beyond. . Thank you, @strollnicholshills for sharing our mission and info related to the upcoming Taste of OKC event on May 30th. . Dad writes the following HDT quote to me every year for my bday; . "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away". . Shoutout to @chasekerby for taking the only headshot I can imagine I would ever take.

“Make everybody feel like a somebody”. A quote I’m sure when said by my dad didn’t realize the impact it would make on me. Monday I was VERY pleasantly surprised with being named the 2025 Tulsa Big Sister of the Year by Big Brother Big Sister. WOW!!! I am so thankful for this honor and the opportunity to be just a small part of my littles life. Anna and I have been together for several years now, 5 to be more specific, and I have watched her grow into a more confident young lady!! Thank you to Ashley and Joe for sharing Anna with me. You guys are the best!! Thank you to BBBS for my lil redhead Anna!! And lastly, thank you to Aaron and Titus for never making me feel guilty doing what I love, giving back!!!

6️⃣0️⃣ UTulsa students are active volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma! 💙 This means that students spend at least four hours a month mentoring their “little” brother or sister, doing entertaining, educational activities that have a lasting impact on children who need help with self-esteem, decision making and other areas of life. We’re proud of these students for setting a great example, both on campus and in the community.

Six months ago, I was matched with my Little 💕 and we’ve officially hit our 6-month mark — halfway to a successful 1-year match! Watching our bond grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey as Miss Black Oklahoma. The laughter, the conversations, the growth — it’s truly been a blessing. Being a Big through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has changed my life just as much as I hope it’s impacted my Little’s. This organization doesn’t just create matches — it creates mentorship, confidence, consistency, and love. It shows our youth that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness. Grateful for the opportunity to serve, to lead, and to pour into the next generation. #missblackoklahoma #bbbs
