The University of Tulsa is proud to announce that Stacy Leeds will serve as the university’s 22nd president, effective July 1. Leeds, a 1997 alumna of UTulsa’s College of Law and Muskogee native, has an enviable national reputation and a formidable track record of fostering student success and institutional excellence. Currently the dean of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and a former vice chancellor at the University of Arkansas, Leeds brings more than 25 years of experience as a professor and administrator at national research institutions. “The priority moving forward is our promise to our people: students, alumni, faculty, staff and community. By providing selfless mentorship and unwavering support, we will give our students the foundation to expand their minds and the confidence to push their boundaries. We will empower our graduates to pursue a mission that truly matters both to them and the world around them,” Leeds said. “Most prosperous, innovative and resilient cities rely on an equally vibrant university in their midst. UTulsa will fulfill that destiny.” UTulsa is thankful to Interim President Rick Dickson (B.S. ’77) for his selfless service during the search process. He will continue in that role through June 30 to support a smooth transition.

🗞️ The University of Tulsa advanced an impressive 21 places in the 2026 U.S. News and World Report's Best College rankings. UTulsa is tied with @KansasStateUniversity , among other national universities, and outranked nearby @OKstate , @Uarkansas and @UNT . 🇺🇸 UTulsa moved up 12 places among the best colleges for veterans, rose four places in undergraduate engineering programs and edged up to secure the No. 3 position in undergraduate petroleum engineering programs. (The university was named the No. 1 graduate program in the United States for petroleum engineering earlier this year.) Paws for this precious moment.🐾 University of Tulsa cyber studies doctoral candidate Chelsea Idensohn received her hood during the Graduate School commencement ceremony on Friday. 🐕️ But for the first time at UTulsa, a canine received one, too! Idensohn's emotional support animal, Georgia, accompanied her onto the podium. After Idensohn received her new academic regalia, Professor of Computer Science John Hale bestowed a tiny identical hood - created by a UTulsa staff member - upon Georgia as well. 💙
