El edificio Kunstsilo es el fruto de un ejercicio de arquitectura sumamente delicada. Ha sabido comprender el comportamiento de los volúmenes de hormigón para infundirles un alma nueva de escala catedralicia.
Es un santuario íntimo que supera la austera herencia nórdica de su génesis, a través de una maestría excepcional en el manejo de la luz, el esmero exquisito en sus materiales y una noble apertura hacia la extensión portuaria. Da una segunda oportunidad a un edificio, respetando su pasado e incorporando el entorno en su nueva función pública y, al hacerlo, el Kunstsilo trasciende su función como un faro cultural y referente mundial.

KUNSTSILO forma parte de la regeneración del puerto industrial de Kristiansand (Noruega), convirtiendo un antiguo silo funcionalista en un museo contemporáneo. El proyecto preserva la memoria arquitectónica del edificio mediante intervenciones respetuosas, como la apertura de la planta baja, la creación de un mirador en cubierta y la integración urbana del conjunto.
A nivel interior, la intervención clave es un gran corte vertical que genera un foyer central —el “Silosalen”—, que articula el recorrido museográfico en altura y potencia la expresividad del espacio original. La propuesta combina sostenibilidad, reutilización y activación cultural, convirtiendo el museo en un nodo urbano y social.
