In Ryan Corbett’s hands the accordion is more of a symphony orchestra than a solo instrument. His programme ranges from the high baroque of JS Bach to Weber’s classical showpiece the Konzertstück and from the rich romanticism of Franck to the amazing brilliance of Russian accordion virtuoso Zolotaryov. And in the middle Rachmaninov;s utterly gorgeous ‘Vocalise’, a melody to die for. Franck: Chorale No.2 in B minor Bach: Prelude & Fugue in C sharp Major BWV 848 Zolotaryov: Sonata No.2 Rachmaninov: Vocalise Weber: Konzertstück Join us at the wonderful Pump Room on the evening of 4 June for a beautiful evening of music. ⭐️ Thursday 4 June, 9.30pm ⭐️ Head to @bathboxoffice for tickets #BathMusicFest26 @visitbathuk @bathbid @greatwestway @totalguidetobath @ryan.corbett_ #BathMusic #BathMusicFestival #VisitBath #ClassicalBath

ZRI's Cellar Sessions re-creates the atmosphere of the Red Hedgehog Tavern in Vienna from which the band takes its name. Schubert and Brahms were both fascinated by Hungarian ‘Gypsy-band’ music and it became as fashionable as the waltz in Vienna, with one of the tunes included here still part of the standard repertory in an arrangement by Brahms. The programme includes: Mozart - Rondo alla Turca Jay Gorney and Yip Harburg - Brother can you spare a dime Brahms - Rondo alla zingarese, from G minor piano quartet op.25 Rossini - William Tell overture, finale Fritz Kreisler - Liebesleid Reinhardt - Rythme futur Classical and folk music intermingle, inspired by a 19th-century Viennese tavern where musicians from all scenes would meet after hours, and the boundaries between genres became blurry in tandem with the flow of beer and wine . Prepare to dance, laugh, holler, and maybe even shed a tear with this mixed program which includes Bach to Donna Summer. Come and joi us for an eveing to remember at Komedia Bath ⭐️ Music at the Red Hedgehog - The Cellar Sessions ⭐️ Wednesday 3 June, 7pm ⭐️ Head to @bathboxoffice for tickets #BathMusicFest26 @visitbathuk @bathbid @greatwestway @totalguidetobath @zrimusic #BathMusic #BathMusicFestival #VisitBath #ClassicalBath

The Van Baerle Trio are quite simply one of the world’s finest chamber ensembles. Beethoven’s atmospheric ‘Ghost’ Trio is one of his finest chamber works, and Brahms’s late C minor trio has all the rich, romantic expression to be expected from a late masterpiece by perhaps the greatest composer of the 19th century. Van Baerle’s mixture of musicality and vitality will bring these works to life in a truly wonderful way. We are delighted to welcome these exquisite musicians to Bath International Music Festival 2026 for two afternoon concerts at St Swithin's Church. ⭐️ Thursday 4 June, 2.30pm Beethoven: Piano Trio in D major, Op 70/1 (‘Ghost') Schumann-Kirchner: 6 Canonic Studies, Op 5 Brahms: Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op 8 ⭐️ Friday 6 June, 3pm Haydn: Piano Trio in E flat major, Hob. XV:30 Brahms: Piano Trio No. 3 in c minor, Op 101 Beethoven: Piano Trio in B flat major, Op 97 (‘Archduke') ⭐️ Head to @bathboxoffice for tickets Sponsored by Morny Davison #BathMusicFest26 @visitbathuk @bathbid @greatwestway @totalguidetocardiff #BathMusic #BathMusicFestival #VisitBath #ClassicalBath

Experience William Byrd’s *Mass for Five Voices* as it was meant to be heard: offered in worshipful secrecy in an extraordinary theatrical concert marking the 400th anniversary of one of England’s greatest composers. During the Reformation, Byrd (a recusant Catholic) composed music for clandestine performance in private homes, where worshippers gathered in hushed devotion amid hidden artefacts, smuggled priests and the ever-present risk of discovery. His quiet defiance, expressed through music, remains profoundly resonant today, when so many across the world still face religious intolerance. For the first time, The Gesualdo Six join forces with Fretwork in an immersive production conceived and directed by Bill Barclay and presented by Concert Theatre Works. Through evocative staging and imaginative design, the performance brings Byrd’s world vividly to life. Simple fare of soup and bread is shared, evoking ritual and communion, while audiences are invited to move freely among the costumed performers and encounter the tactile beauty of hand-crafted partbooks. Step inside a living museum and honour Byrd’s quiet activism in a concert experience unlike any other. A wonderful experience not to be missed. And as Marian McNeir MBE (who is sponsoring the concert) says, the second concert will be extra special. #BathMusicFest26 @visitbath @bathbid @greatwestway @totalbath @thegesualdosix @bathabbey @bathboxoffice
