We are thrilled to unveil our new album, Songs of Angels, which will be released in full on 13th March 2026! This is our 11th disc, and marks the fourth instalment of our much-loved ‘Renaissance Gems and their Reflections’ series, this time celebrating the music of Orlando Gibbons. We recorded this disc in the summer of 2025 (the 400th anniversary of Gibbons’ death), and we are delighted to release this album as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebrations this year. Songs of Angels is crafted from a handpicked selection of Gibbons’ best works, from his most famous anthems to some lesser-known gems, alongside selected Hymnes and Songs of the Church. Interspersed throughout the disc are the premiere recordings of five new ORA Singers commissions from Cecilia McDowall, Will Todd, Nicola LeFanu, Marco Galvani, and Harry Baker, each a contemporary ‘reflection’ of a Gibbons original piece. In a first for ORA, we commissioned the brilliantly talented Harry Baker to write jazz-inflected arrangements of Gibbons’ Hymns for choir & piano, and we were thrilled to have him with us to record these back in July 2025. The result is a disc that we are incredibly proud to have put together, and we hope you enjoy what it has to offer. There’s plenty to come before the full release in March, so keep an eye out on our socials to be among the first to hear our new album! #SongsOfAngels #ORASingersAt10 @suzidigby @mcdowall.cecilia @will_todd_music @harrybakermusic @marcogalvani #nicolalefanu
