These past few days I’ve been scared my freshly removed stitches were gonna open up again every time I danced hahaha. Really grateful and happy to have completed such a large-scale shoot over these two days. Thank you to all the organisers for your trust it truly meant a lot to us This was a bold attempt for us. When different organisers reached out, there was definitely pressure, but we chose to see it as an opportunity to bring together more people who are passionate about dance and filming. Not only friends from the street dance community, but also people from outside the scene who joined us to work together. While they were learning how to shoot, we were also learning how to collaborate with a bigger team. Winnie and I didn’t take anything from the budget we put everything back into the team. For us, it was a meaningful step: bringing more people together, working as a team, and making sure everyone involved was paid for their work. When things move forward in a positive and sustainable way, I truly believe it only gets better from us, to the work we do, and to the community we’re capturing. This experience has given us even more motivation and ideas to take on bigger projects in the future. I’ve never worked three days in a row this intensely before. Even though I’m totally exhausted, the energy from yesterday atmosphere kept me going. The vibe the whole community brought in was more than enough to power me through every round of shooting. Also… it was my first time joining a Hiphop battle 😂 I really tried not to pop hahaha.
