Two years in the making, and finally we are climbing the mighty rock in the heart of Nigeria…
It was always going to be a tough climb for @rotimi_odukoya but it turned into an incredible feat and emotional story.

First shoot day for @redbulladventure in the can. Lagos energy was warm and electric with our UK-Nigeria crew. Next stop: we head north to attempt to climb the legendary Mount Zuma.
Over the next few days we’re going to be posting from the @base_am archive. Expeditions to remote corners of the world, big routes on rock, missions in open water, off-road in places most vehicles never reach. Adventures shot in conditions that pushed the kit, the crew, and the adventurers to their limits.

We went to Nigeria to make a climbing film and came home with something so much bigger.
A story of hardcore climbing, yes,but also a lesson in the momentum you can create when an entire community rallies behind what you’re doing.
In those moments when you’re close to giving up on a big wall, the songs and cheers of a crowd hundreds of feet below can make all the difference.
When you see the kids who were cheering from below actually helping pull the ropes of Mt Zuma… (with @waldo_etherington sort of manning ropes!) you witness how joyful and inspiring adventure can be, and how that energy ripples out into the wider community.
Hopefully inspiring future generations to step beyond their normal.
