Introducing “Weekend Warrior”, the result of 10 months of working nights and weekends after my day job in the garage to complete a bike for
@biltwell_peoples_champ . This is the first full custom build that I’ve ever done not using OEM parts so it was a huge challenge pretty much every step of the way… I started with a
@benjeff single loop intruder frame I won in a raffle last April. That, and a rear wheel are pretty much what I started with when I entered the competition in September of 2023. I cut no corners during this build. The engine is an 80” evolution that I purchased then subsequently disassembled, vapor honed, and rebuilt from top to bottom with all the best parts with help from
@tonawandadavid within the span of about a month. It’s kick only,
@morrismagneto fired, no battery, and there is very minimal wiring. The transmission is a
@bakerdrivetrain 6 into 4 and I’m using a
@barnettclutchescables clutch. Most of the parts are one-off and those that are “bolt on” were heavily modified. I didn’t reinvent the wheel and I wasn’t trying to; from the get-go I set out to build a fast, reliable, simple bike with a contemporary style. Something I want to ride. I think I succeeded? Been putting lots of break-in miles on it in preparation for
@bornfreeshow … see you guys at Cooks Corner on June 21st
For the record.. I can’t say enough good things about the
@biltwell guys. I would recommend anyone with some skill and an idea to enter next years Peoples Champ competition. I think that a deadline and some pressure of expectation can yield some pretty cool results.
