Hello! I’m Amanda, but you can call me Dada. 1/5 of Pulau Pulao. A mural artist & illustrator born in Bangkok & raised barely in between. As of 2025, I’ve been creating murals & illustrations for 12 years, where I spent most of that time trying to figure out what kind of artist I wanted to be, while refining my craft & exploring new styles along the way. My works are mostly inspired by my femininity & childhood growing up between countries that were largely surrounded by nature & animals. I also took up some influences from my time in fashion school as a diva should. Currently, I’m on an ongoing journey of self-discovery as an Artist & preparing for a potential solo show heavily inspired by my mother. My paintings delve into my Chinese-Thai upbringing & reflect on my childhood immersed in nature, reinterpreted myths through the lens of my personal experiences.

A very happy throwback to this piece I painted at 195 Pearl’s Hill Terrace. With the lease now extended till 2028, it feels even more meaningful 🍾🙌🏽🎊🥹🫶🏽🎉 An initial attempt to share a simple tribute turned into a piece that now holds memory, growth, & quiet reflection. During the days I went down to paint, she became more than a mural. She started to feel like a presence. A quiet guardian, not loud or obvious, but like the way old trees or weathered walls seem to remember everything. Back when we thought our time with PHT was limited, I began painting her as a witness. Someone who sees the inbetween moments, the changes, the people who come & go. Watching us as we watch her. & now I’m so happy I get to come more Thursday evenings to see how much more this place will continue to grow & inspire. Yay!!!!!! 🤍 Thank you to everyone I’ve connected with through this piece. Your words, presence, & support in my work & this space means so much to me. 🙏🏽

Kinaya ⸻ Street Art City, 2025. My largest solo mural to date, & my first building facade mural outside of Singapore. I’ve loved Thai mythology since childhood, so I knew Kinaya would be my favourite as soon as I began sketching her. Part Eurasian tree sparrow, she wears a jade pendant for prosperity, longevity & happiness. She perches high in a tree, almost too still, quietly watching over the place for as long as she belongs here. 🤍 I still can’t believe I carried a piece of home (& myself) halfway across the world in under 10 days, thanks to the SAC team, my friends & the sun that reassures me everyday that I still have afew more hours of sunlight at 6pm 😂 Thank you @streetartcity.officiel for giving us a place to stay. What an honour to stand among so many cultures & over 800 artists from around the world. This Euro summer has been humbling, inspiring & healing. 🙏🏽 We did it @pulau.pulao ! Special thanks to the team especially Anna, Caty, Anaïs, Laurent, @zesoner & of course the lovely Sylvie & Gilles for making this experience so insanely beautiful. These memories I’ll keep close to my heart until we meet again 🫶🏽 May Kinaya bring warmth to all who see her.

The brief from Lew was straightforward. A large, peaceful body of water, some ducks & a chicken. Somehow I ended up proposing many chickens. Nothing was said, but hey, if you asked for ducklings & got chickens instead, i’m gna paint you some ducks!!! Added the ducklings right at the end to redeem myself from myself. We move on. Knowing Lew like I do, I knew this wall was never going to be just a checklist. He’s a massive lover of all things nature & animals, genuinely a naturalist at heart. A wall like his deserves a whole world to dream in. So what I built around the brief was a feeling. A made up kampung lake landscape. Something reminiscent of home & somewhere far away where you can shut down & be safe. Somewhere you’d want to lie down in & stay. Painting murals for years now & one of the biggest privilege of my work is that it’s not just a painting on the wall, you’re changing how a room breathes. Where will the eye land first? Where will it want to travel? And I get to do that? So you bet a lot of these decisions happen quietly in my head before any pigment touches the wall. The whole process was slow & layered. Lots of thin washes, stepping back, making sure what looks right up close feels consistent from across the room. Somehow we did all that & also finished in 2 days! I can’t remember the before of this wall anymore. Thank you for trusting me with your home again @lewloh 🫶🏽 If you haven’t heard his music yet, they all carry the same calm as this wall & you should go listen rn. I started a blog I told myself I would start in 2026 but I got too excited & so this post shall be a little prelude. I’ve been quietly sharing sneak peeks of my upcoming solo through other shows. If you caught Yai & Ahma at Tembusu Gallery in September, or if you came by @intheb00nies during our soft launch and saw the works in progress… this blog post is for you. 🤍 I finally wrote about it. PSA: it’s a lot. The entry is now live on my site, link in bio 👆🏽

A spontaneous hehehaha mural with my dearest friend & singer @lewloh 🌱🤍 This wall was painted 06/07/2023 when Lew had just adopted Molly & Tarot as bb frogs, fresh out of tadpole mode while both of us were also in the deep of conceptualising covers for his singles. (Which btw I am obsessed with, will post them in due time) Not long after, I’m Just a Frog was written with @katiebux & released — a song that carries so much of their hearts. 🫶🏽 Every time I think of how much love can be poured into art, into music, into the little beings we care for… I think of this mural. Back then, Lew was just starting out as a frog dad, feeding his babies FULL GROWN crickets. It was wild to witness (especially for me, I’m TERRIFIED of crickets) & at first the sight of Molly & Tarot catching them felt almost cruel. But it wasn’t. Especially seeing it done by Lew was nature, care & love in its purest form. So here’s me trying to preserve the beautiful day we had in a post. I still don’t know how people desensitise themselves to such things & while I consume meat every day, irony isn’t lost on me. I get it now, seeing someone is all enough to know that you love. I love this song & yknow what sometimes, I also just wna be a frog. 🐸☁️🌝🪾 Photo by @toot_a_loot

This piece I’ve titled Serene Reverie in 2023 had been sold about a month ago (🙈✨) & I want to throwback to fond memories of my process working on this in my home studio before I moved out into my current work studio. This piece depicts my mom & my cat who’ve taught me so much about calm, comfort & taking up space. It’s a painting that holds deep personal meaning & reflected the stillness in my life that I would often overlook. 🌾 I’m very grateful to the kind couple who have now made this piece a part of their home, & to everyone who’s reached out with love, interest, or curiosity. Huge thanks to Shawn previously from @roughguysco.sg for offering a space to share this with those who resonate. I hope to expand my works into more spaces to bring beauty, story & softness into corners of the world that need it. I’m currently working on my solo show (!!!) & juggling a few exciting projects with @pulau.pulao , but I’m also open to commissions. If you’d like something made just for you, check out my catalogue on the “Commissions” highlight on my page & drop me a DM to get started. 💌 Thank you for being part of this journey! So happy to be on track with finding my people 🤍

Some archived vibes down at 55 Pipit Road with @artsolute.asia , @ubinartist , @eveartsg , & @charissatung . Working on this project has reminded me yet again the impact of making art within a community. Every day, in small ways, I saw how this craft inspires, connects, and sparks curiosity, especially with residents who feel a little like family I don’t get to see enough that shows us support & love through their food & small gestures of care. May the paintings here at Block 55 continue stirring up conversations, questions & share even more stories amongst the neighbourhood

Painting in real time can be painfully slow, so here’s one in reel time. It’s slow enough!!! #watercolor #painting

The day the installation went up. And it's staying up for another week. It was a complete treat to see @pulau.pulao artists @fanny.ozda and @barelydada dance with the heavy machinery to bring the soft sculptures up into the rafters of the pavillion. Led by @dinchan.art , the structural team brought a different element to each of the 8 works with wire and stripped bamboo in shapes that take inspiration from leaf and seed pod furls and curls, bringing the textured fabrics into full animation. The sculptures now move with the elements because of their tremendous efforts together with @christinerbayart @analogal @clairelimjy_ @muta.wear @gardenerofthings @weiqin.c One more week to see it in the Canberra Park Pavillion! @sgartweek @nacsingapore @passionartssg #singaporeartweek2025 #publicart #communityart #artworkshops #artinstallation #softsculpture #textilewaste #textilepaperlab #renewearthsweatshop
