In 2024 she had a duo show with Bruce Nauman ‘Noku / Nauman’ at Saatchi Yates (London, UK) where she previously she had her debut solo in in 2022 ‘There’s A Ghost In Every Town’. In 2025 she participated in ‘It Goes Without Saying’ at Kunsthal Extra City (Antwerp, BE). Charlie De Voet (b.1977, lives and works in Ronse , BE) researches the interplay between painting and sculpture, where he experiments with texture, shape and colour. He focuses on paint as matter, exploring the effects of excessive layering. His monochrome paintings, with subtle transitions from dark to light and painted wet in wet painted with oil paint, emerge from an intensive process that De Voet describes as ‘almost meditative’ ‘LET SEEK HIDE & PAINT’ is Charlie De Voet’s second solo exhibition with BARBÉ. The gallery has presented his works in numerous exhibitions both in and outside the gallery. The installation featured a 600 kg iceberg that gradually melted away completely. Now only the empty table remains, the party is now officially over. At @artbrussels this year, BARBÉ presents a focused solo project by @gideon_kiefer : ‘This Party Is Over’. Gideon Kiefer will show new works based on the center piece of the solo project presentation, ‘This Party Is Over’. The sculpture, consisting of 600 kg of ice presented on a banquet table, gradually melts throughout the fair and will not last until its end. The melting ice sculpture engages with the recurring theme of climate change, inviting us to observe the festive table as the work slowly disappears. Once fully melted the party is truly finished. Beyond its reference to the climate crisis, the melting iceberg can also be read as a metaphor for fading memory, a concept that lies at the core of Kiefer’s practice. She lives in Bilzen and works in Hasselt. The constant questioning of painting as a medium lies at the core of Hansen’s practice. Her works , including paintings, collages and sculptural canvases, exist at the intersection of image and space. The starting point is always the canvas, which Hansen increasingly detaches from its traditional format. Her shaped canvases, for instance, break through rectangular boundaries and introduce new, autonomous forms into space. Her works are never static. They open up, break out, retreat and push back. Space is not merely used but consciously composed. In Hansen’s work, colour and form function as structuring elements within a playful, self-developed system that is deliberately interrupted and questioned. Her installations operate like levels in a game ; the point is not to win, but to keep playing. When in Antwerp be sure to visit her current solo ‘Bloom or Blast’ @deboergallery .
