THE MYTH I’ve been so excited to share this project. Could not have asked for a more meaningful film and exceptional group of creatives and filmmakers to work through some of this complicated and emotional material. The Model Minority Myth was never just a concept for the creative team but a personal and deeply felt experience. It made the work tough but tough in all the right ways.  Making this film truly took a village. The generosity, commitment, and kindness from this village was so moving. Happy year of the Snake! @biscuitfilmworks has felt like home for some time but so excited to announce I’m officially joining the biscuit roster! It’s been such a joy and epic journey so far and can’t wait to make more beautiful films with great people together. Thank you to the biscuit family who have supported, championed, and mentored me. I wouldn’t be here without so much love and support. Feeling so grateful. 🖤💕 On the heels of this, I also want to say, as I continue to navigate a path of directing and DPing, I hope the future of filmmaking allows for some more non-traditional containers and letting the title silos to soften. When I step back, I don’t really know what I’m rushing toward. I sometimes think about the advice I would give a younger version of myself: enjoy the present, love your community, and nurture your heart. This piece is a reflection of this moment in my life when I feel a particular pressure to be something more, that I haven’t done enough, and time is running out. It’s a critique of myself and this unending anxiety of being late, what I should be doing, around my worrying about myself. Sometimes it’s so obvious that care and love exist as the fundamentals. And to feel connected makes everything else feel secondary. We are small, but our feelings universal. Film coming soon.
