Another fascinating project with the dedicated storytellers over at @NatGeo . This time, weâre exploring the animal kingdom.
Salute to the team @heyalexbrady@atlingo and @hilary.and who embarked on the painstaking year long process to distill 10 years of footage to craft this beautiful documentary which charts the commitment, challenges and triumphs in the ongoing project to restore Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique to itâs full and rich biodiverse splendour.
My musical approach is not just inspired by the story itself, but the collaboration with a passionate team of filmmakers.

Composition & Sound design for the teaming up of @beatsbydre & visionary designer @YinkaIlori for the @red Campaign collaboration on the Solo 4 Special (RED) Edition headphones.
Yinka Iloriâs work blends traditional African aesthetics with contemporary design so musically I wanted to bring together the warmth and groove inspired by Nigerian highlife with a soft and unobtrusive yet cinematic approach as the canvas for Yinkaâs reflections on his inspirations for the collaboration which celebrated the intersection of music, art and design while amplifying the mission of (RED), raising awareness and funds for the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

These vignettes were captured on and around the island of St. Helena during Directorâs Dominic Aubrey de Vere & @brosephcurran âs journey which lead to a serendipitous meeting with @anninavanneel which in turn opened up of a powerful untold story.

It was an honour to score this film. A powerful journey of discovery and the symbolic completion of a voyage their ancestors never got the chance to.
Filmmaking is a collaborative art and I couldnât have asked for a better team of collaborators at Nat Geo to work alongside in bringing this film to life in particular Alex, @atlingo and Anthony.
Writing and recording this score was a very personal exploration that called on and drew out of me things that I didnât even know were there.
