Gramophone system incorporating the Technics SL1200-MK5 motor drive control circuit. I put the control interface in a separate enclosure which utilizes a microcontroller to drive the front panel interface. The plinth is 6 layers of Baltic Birch plywood inspired by some of the work by
@devonojas . I had many conversations with
@mcrushing over this design, and his knowledge was extremely helpful.
At the start of this project, I had a conversation with
@je2a3 over tonearms, and he connected me with
@rcanut1 who happened to be selling an Alfred Bokrand AB-309 tonearm. After purchasing the arm, we had a phone call, and John shared bits of stories and wisdom that span decades. thank you John! The second tonearm is a vintage Dynavector DV-505, which is another component I have followed for some time. I feel very lucky to be the steward of this iconic piece of gear and history. The phono cables are handmade by
@prospercables and
@doghatindustries . I could not be more happy with their craftsmanship. The cables incorporate the Switchcraft 3502A connectors to match my
@devonojas interconnects in the rest of my system.
