I had a lot of interest in my story picture from yesterday “show your work…”…well, this is the final outcome. A pair of hand made, solid silver interconnects, built from the ground up. There are a lot of interconnects on the market, but, I made these and I’m proud of them.
Here are a few professional photos that were taken from the @ampsandsound room @axpona this past week. I had the best time. So many people were curious about the horn loaded speakers with the 15" drivers in this room. The speakers that were used in the room were Seneca 2-way speakers made by @ampsandsound and are featured on their website. Also, the Waxwing DPS based phono pre was pretty fun, it's on my shopping list.
Thanks to the super talented Grant @soundsolver for designing and printing this aluminum baking pan shelving system. I couldn’t be happier with the design. It feels really stout. And the design is 👌…the icing on the cake is he designed a gridfinity grid to the top so I can stack multiple units or other gridfinity prints. I love it. Now I just need to break out the label maker to print on the trays. #gridfinity
A few weeks back, a local friend suggested I send one of my Ethernet cables out for review.
Matt at @everydayaudiophile5409 (YouTube) had recently been making videos around network-related audio components, and my friend thought a cable comparison might be a useful addition to that discussion.
Yesterday, Matt shared his thoughts on the cable I sent him.
I’ll say the same thing here that I try to say anytime this topic comes up: I can’t promise an Ethernet cable will make a noticeable audio improvement in your system.
What I can say is that this cable is built very differently than any off-the-shelf Ethernet cable I’ve used. The construction is intentional, the materials are chosen carefully, and the finished cable has a feel that makes me smile when I pick it up.
And honestly, that’s part of the fun for me.
Big thanks to Matt for taking the time to listen, compare, and share his thoughts.
Almost forgot to share these today. Here are a pair of RCAs from my Reference Line. Choices of connectors will likely be KLE Silver, WBT-0114ag and these silver AECO connectors once I have this option up on my website. These are my handmade solid silver cables and will be my standard top line RCA option with one outlier being higher (Statement Line)…which would be an over indulgence of everything.
Today is going to be show and tell day. I'm working out of the office today. Working on the website. Here is an insight into how I work. Sometimes, I start with sketches to plan out cables, color combinations, materials, etc. Here you can see a rough sketch I made one morning at breakfast. The next image is tightend up a bit with AI so it's a little easier to look at. Just going through old photos today. And wanted to share. Happy Thursday.
