Begun in 2020 in reponse to a 2020 Markievicz Award from @artscouncilireland , it's piece of early entirely DIY AI art that stands in feminist opposition to commercial LLMs and is the subject of a chapter by @flesh_circuit in the Routledge Companion to Irish Digital Art... sometimes I forget all the people I've been...

When @irishwriterscentre asked me to do a masterclass I realised I'm not at all sure about mastery. I wanted to think about the push-pull of mastery/unmastery in writing; about the roles of doubt, risk, opposition, destruction and refusal, which can (if you flip the coin) also be kinds of confidence, enthusiasm, construction and curiosity. I also wanted to think practically about strategies for maintaining a creative life in difficult circumstances, building networks of mutual support, and re-evaluating what a written work can be. I hope you might enjoy this session if you're writing or considering writing across (or outside) conventional genres or media.
