Out of Cafe Oto, Ormside and Spanners the collective is shaping a distinctive personal take of our present. 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭 is a musician with a background in contemporary and classical dance, whose performances combine movement and storytelling, within a distorted landscape of displacement, yearning and the undead. Scout’s mysterious mix of demure post grunge and medieval church music feels fractured but whole. She steers you into the abyss, yet is the compass that guides your way back out. @bianca_scout 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐬 is an improvisation-based artist & curator, who founded the gesamtkunstwerk life is beautiful. A filmmaker turned sonic conjurer, she builds performances that feel less like concerts and more like ceremonies — where pounding hand-played rhythms, scorched electronics and her unmistakable voice collide in states of ecstatic release. res_ (fka, res_és_nostre) is a sound art duo working at the intersection of electronic music, language and visual arts through a multidisciplinary, research-based practice. Their work delves deeply into the politics of sound—its authorship, context and ecological implications—and evolves from previous projects based on sampling, voice and field recordings. _ᴠɪᴇʀɴᴇꜱ 𝟣𝟥/𝟢𝟨_ screening of PICÓ: Un Parlante de Africa en America (60 mins) - Galería LastCrit C/ Mendez Nuñez 7 PICÓ: Un parlante de Africa en America is a documentary film focusing on the Colombian tradition of Picós, heavily decorated soundsystems that animate street parties of the Costa Atlàntica. Its history can be traced back to the 1960s, yet its roots are to be found deeper, at the time of slavery routes, when coastal cities like Barranquilla and Cartagena played a huge role as points of access in the trade. As a privileged gateway, Colombia’s coast granted access to the technological devices and cultural products – including music from West Africa – that became the basis of Picó culture. The local painters, wood carvers and music selectors who stimulate the tradition are very much aware of its peculiar history and significance in the culture at large: the Picó system carries a tradition of revolt against subjugation and the dispossessed’s struggle. Through interviews shot in Barranquilla, Cartagena and Palenque, they speak earnestly of the craft and its surroundings, elaborating on a phenomenon so multifaceted as its musical and visual aspects are entrancing. Invernomuto’s direction gives equal space to this loud and kaleidoscopic environment and to the naturally unfolding narrative of a story yet to be written. directed by Invernomuto & Jim C. Nedd African-American Sound Recordings is an artist operating in the United States "PICÓ: Un Parlante de Africa en America" is a documentary film by @invernomuto_hq & Jim C. Nedd focusing on the Colombian tradition of Picós, heavily decorated soundsystems that animate street parties of the Costa Atlàntica. Its history can be traced back to the 1960s, yet its roots are to be found deeper, at the time of slavery routes, when coastal cities like Barranquilla and Cartagena played a huge role as points of access in the trade. (60 mins) Pasaporteman & Nusmaïl is a collaborative act by @babasy__ and @nusmail_ outta Jokkoo Collective. They delves into the depths of the watery Atlantic graveyard, attempting to create sounds through their performances that give rise to landscapes and atmospheres reflecting the devastating consequences of the migrant journey. In doing so, it becomes a vindication and a call for passports that break down borders.
