Teenage me is screaming somewhere. Here are a few of my favorite stills from the Better Days music from @yellowcard I recently had the chance to color. Everybody really knocked this out of the park! Every time I watch it I am still in awe of all the custom props for this shoot, the candy labels, the movie covers, the costumes, not to mention popcorn cannons! P.S I need a pack of Pucker Pals and copy of Crow Man now. A 48-hour short is a silly undertaking. It’s like making a Michelin-star dinner for hamsters: one could, but why? At what point while plating a decently-cooked filet mignon the size of a pea do you think, why am I doing this? Well, the fundamentals are still there: technique and execution. There’s a need for creativity and, in the end, there’s something (however monstrous) to behold. Verisimilitude was awarded “Best Film” of the local competition in 2023. It’s got the same snooty meta layer of its companion piece “Hit the Mark”, but wrapped more tightly in genre. I’m proud of it. While the whole endeavor is a self-induced anxiety-fueled fever dream, it’s also a nice bonding experience. Having fun or in the pit of misery, ultimately it will end (rather quickly) and at least we’re here together 🤝🥹. I’m so thankful to the team that helped bring this to life - folks that “get it”. Together we propelled @videoramascope to consecutive wins at the @stl48hfp . Maybe the real verisimilitude was the friends we made along the way?
