in the novice category, you focus on perfecting your basics while learning about who you are as a dancer and the voice you’ll have during a dance. i’m incredibly thankful to have pulled brandon (
@b_canswing ) for novice jack and jill. he advocates for the follow to have a voice in the dance, which opens up a whole world of possibilities to take the dance to the next level. i made plenty of mistakes in this dance, but as i continue learning about myself and my voice as a dancer, it’s leads like him that make the difference. thank you for the amazing dances, brandon! i hope to dance with you again soon. 💃🕺
i also want to thank my mentors who have continuously pushed me to be better. they have taught me how important the little, meticulous details are in a dance and how one simple change can make a huge difference on what you can bring to a partnership as a follow. they help me connect to my body and have encouraged me to continue finding my own voice in a dance. thank you
