Novice Semis w/ Regina:
Probably my absolute favorite comp dance of the weekend. It’s the best feeling to draw someone you know and dance with in a comp. And it’s even better when the dance doesn’t even feel like a comp dance but a midnight social dance. A great song and a great partner. Was a great way to end semis!

✨ Meet Your Next Country Swing Judge: Caleb Sears ✨
Caleb Sears began dancing in January 2020 (starting with line dancing, believe it or not) before quickly discovering partner dance and diving head first into Country Swing. Over the past three years, he has traveled across the country competing in Country Swing and has now begun expanding that journey into West Coast Swing as well.
Caleb has had the privilege of mentoring at several large events, including Nashville Dance Fest, The Edge, and Shoreline. He has also judged and emceed at events up and down the East Coast, including The Showdown, Dogwood Dance’s Summer Swing Soirée, Dip or Die, and many others. In addition, he is part of the Kickstart Country Partner Dance Certification Program.
Fun fact: Caleb’s first true Country Swing competition was at Cancun Cantina in October 2023 — and it was the first event he ever finaled in. It’s incredibly special to have him return years later, this time as a judge at Boots in Bloom. 🌸👢

QC Swing Reactions:
Trust me I’ll be the first to tell you I get caught up in competitions. From over analysis to being super critical of myself. But sometimes it’s buses to take a step back and look at the fun that not only you are having but others. And trust me not all these reactions were because an amazing move happened 😂. From “dang that was a cool moment” to “oh gosh what is he thinking” a moment is a moment. It’s great to be able to step away and laugh at the moments you create.
Also, it’s just fun to mess with the judges 😂
