We’re throwing a little party with some of our friends to celebrate a year of Taste Bridges down at @axisbeer , who will be pouring some special wines, with snacks from @prattschneiders and music supplied by @cafe___mountain . We might have some other surprises on the day too 👀.
@axisbeer will be hosting us all in everyone’s favourite beer and wine spot, serving up some special wines straight from Spain. Axis were the very first ‘Taste Bridges’ feature and we are forever grateful for their support ever since! We ❤️Alice & Alex.
What a day for a crisp wine or a frothy pint to start off the long weekend!
Some favourite refreshers on by the glass including the return of the delicious and aptly named chilled cuvée Crush. Matt Gregory in Leicestershire has also produced a beautiful pale rosé ‘Coral’ - hedgerow fruit aromas, fresh tart fruit notes with a dry, mineral finish - all coming in at 8.5%. Pouring all weekend!
Speaking of refreshment; @lefthandedgiantbrewing has every mood covered with their Sicilian Lemon Radler or the crisp, dry bitterness of their West Coast Pilsner.
Hours are as usual across the weekend, plus open Monday 1pm-6pm.

Today we highlight @prattschneiders who will be supplying some of of the best Spanish snacks from @lariberasa ! Our friendship with Pratt Schnieders goes all the way back to around 2006, when Jake was running ‘Rainy Day Skateboards’ from his bedroom supporting the ‘Newcastle Connection’ that consisted of myself and the infamous ‘Ginger Jamie’. Over the years, although actually having never met, it seems our interests have remained in sync and that support of one and another always continued! ❤️ ☂️
About a year ago we sat down for a chat with @alicehoy , co-founder of @axisbeer In that time she only went and got herself on the @codehospitality 30 under 30 list!
So we went back for a revisit, catching up on all things hospitality, what’s shifted, and what’s still to come.
📄Beautiful words by @dylanggeorge full write-up live on our website, link in bio ❤️❤️❤️
We will be kicking off the Easter weekend this year with a little brewery showcase from Fourman - the new small batch brewing project from Robin Head-Fourman; formerly of Burning Sky, and more recently head brewer at Beak.
Robin has set up Fourman underneath the recently reopened Trevor Arms in Glynde, East Sussex, delivering high quality, balanced beers in limited quantities, with a focus on small USA & NZ hop producers.
Beers pouring from open on Thursday the 2nd, see you then!
Every year to celebrate International Women’s Day we donate a portion of our proceeds to a local Gateshead women’s charity. This year is extra special as Alice helped to brew the IWD beer!
@riggandfurrow and @tableprojectnortheast invited us along to the brewery along with a team of other women in hospitality across the region, to create Daughters of Simcoe; a sessionable, hazy, citrusy pale ale. Thankfully the weather is nicer now for drinking it than it was on the brew day!
All proceeds from our keg will be going to Young Women’s Outreach Project @ywopgateshead , who do really important work helping young women & mothers overcome complex social & domestic issues in our region.
Alongside that, all proceeds from can sales will be going straight back to @tableprojectnortheast , a brilliant local project dedicated to supporting & celebrating women in the hospitality industry.
Pouring now, and all weekend while stocks last!
Open until 10 🍻
A lovely list of wines for the weekend!
The newest iteration of @2naturkinder ’s house white blend Vater & Sohn is tasting delicious; as is @titchhillwines ’s Lanterns orange. Tannic, spicy and full of stone fruit & citrus peel flavours. Plenty of styles pouring to suit whatever you fancy, as always.
A reminder that we are unfortunately closed tomorrow, Sunday 1st March. Back open Wednesday as usual.
Open 12-10 today!
The long awaited return to the sun filling up the arch with some beers to match.
A favourite Friday thirst-quencher ‘Hum’ pale by @beakbrewery returns to the taps, glowing brightly.
A rather special keg from Sydney’s finest @wildflowerbeer has hit the taps ready for the weekend. ‘Perpetual Desire’ is a blend of two ales macerated on Rhubarb stalks, Pinot Noir Grapes, Grapefruit and carbonated using raw unheated Blue Mountains Polyflora wild Honey from naturally formed, bee-friendly hives. Complex and refreshing!
Pouring until 10 🍷
For the third year running, we are pouring @trackbrewingco ’s Fusion Pale; a beer brewed by the community, for the community.
In 2025, one pub a day closed in England & Wales. Fusion gives back to independent venues by bringing together each part of their supply chain; all donating their products & time to offer a competitively priced, affordable keg during one of hospitality’s quietest times of the year.
This means you get a delicious, smooth & hazy 5.1% pale at just £5 a pint. Cans available too if you’re passing on your way home!
Pouring tonight alongside plenty winter warmers. Open 4-10!
