Join us on March 13th from 6-8 pm at the Center for Architecture in NYC as we kick off the Seeking Abundance Conversation Series, featuring Alan Ricks, Co-Executive Director and Founding Principal at MASS, Patricia Gruits, Co-Executive Director and Senior Principal at MASS, and Ashley Simone, Editorial Director at Axiomatic Editions. A book talk and film screening, this evening celebrates the release of Seeking Abundance; exploring the intersection of architecture, landscape, and ecology through regenerative practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement. Together, we’ll rethink how we design, work, and care for the places we inhabit- reframing abundance as a shared, place-based practice grounded in equity, imagination, and ecological stewardship. NYC friends, if you have time, make sure to pop over to @clampartnyc to see @billarmstrongphoto 's ALL A BLUR exhibition. The show closes TODAY (Feb. 28), so it's your last chance to see these glorious color prints in person. From the CLAMP website: "CLAMP is pleased to present 'Bill Armstrong | All a Blur,' a retrospective exhibition spanning more than two decades of work by the New York–based artist. Bringing together seminal bodies of work from Armstrong’s ongoing “Infinity” series—including “Mandalas,” “Portraits,” “Film Noir,” “Renaissance,” “Falling Through History,” and others—the show offers a comprehensive view of a practice devoted to color, perception, transcendence, and the psychological charge of the image." The exhibition coincides with the publication of "Bill Armstrong: All a Blur—Photographs from the Infinity Series" (Axiomatic Editions, a new imprint of ORO Editions). See more at ALL-A-BLUR.COM. Congrats, Bill! Love these images. #flakphotobooks #flakphotorecs /

“Landscapes for Adaptation: Evidence from China” by Charles Waldheim, with Boya Zhang, examines Kongjian Yu’s strategies for landscape urbanism in China and how they may be deployed in other regions around the world. Waldheim, a leading theorist of landscape urbanism, recently lectured in Beijing in January, tracing how Yu’s projects redefine infrastructure, public space, and ecological repair in Chinese cities. In memoriam, the book also marks the profound impact of Kongjian Yu (1963–2025) on landscape urbanism worldwide, as his sponge city landscapes have transformed both the discipline’s imagination and its tools for living with water. The book, designed by Siena Scarff, will be released later this spring by Axiomatic Editions.   @charleswaldheim @kongjianyu_turenscape @turenscape @panxxpenny @sienascarffdesign @piloti_yogi @harvardgsd

Issue 95.3 of AD, “Reimagining Architectural Drawing: Print and Process,” guest-edited by Mark Dorrian, Riet Eeckhout, and Arnaud Hendrickx, explores how tradition and precedent can spark new forms of architectural drawing and media practice. First exhibited together at A83 under the title The Sixth Somewhat Annual Meeting, the drawings consider how archival artifacts can be brought back into active use, how complex material objects invite unexpected readings, and how changes in media format generate layered visual and conceptual effects. Through close engagement with individual works, the contributors open rich conversations about the drawn work, expanding the dialogue among drawing, archive, and publication, while exploring experimental drawing practices and the life of images across time. The featured writers include Stan Allen @studiostanallen , Greg Barton, Paddi Alice Benson, Peter J. Baldwin @peterjbaldwin , Adam Dayem @adam.aslasho , Iman Fayyad @i.fayyad , Jimenez Lai @0super , Jason Lee @jasonjlee , Bea Martin @bgommartin , Thom Mayne @morphosisarchitects , Alex Pillen @alex_pillen , Aleksandra Wagner, and Bart Verschaffel  The featured drawers include Bryan Cantley @bcantl3y , Nat Chard @nat_chard , Peter Cook @sirpetercook , Riet Eeckhout @riet_eeckhout , Arnaud Hendrickx @arnaud_hendrickx , Perry Kulper @pkulper , James Kennedy @jameskennedyart , CJ Lim @cjlimimaginarium , Metis (Mark Dorrian and Adrian Hawker) @arnaud_hendrickx , Shaun Murray @eniatype , Owen Nichols @chibbernoonie , Smout Allen @smoutallen , Neil Spiller @neilspiller0 , Natalija Subotincic, Clara Syme @a83_inst , Michael Webb @michaelspiderwebb , Mark West @survivinglogic , and Michael Young @young_ayata The featured archival drawings include works by Venturi, Rauch & Scott Brown, Aldo Rossi, Frank Gehry @frankgehry_official , Bernard Tschumi @bernard.tschumi , Thom Mayne @morphosisarchitects , Michael Graves @michaelgravesarchitecture , Paul Graves, Anthony Ames, and David Roth

Armstrong’s photographs range from mysterious falling figures sourced from the Renaissance to vibrating color spheres skin to Buddhist mandalas. LOOK INSIDE Drawing Proper/Drawing Improper by Kevin Hirth @kevinhirth design by Luke Bulman @lbulman essays by Anca Matyiku and Marc Swackhamer @marcswackhamer Each spread unfolds outwards, offering a cinematic panorama of architectural drawings. Through this expanding format, the book explores the diverse wrolds within the architectural field today. In some cases, a drawing is produced with rigor towards a dogmatically reductive intent. In others, a drawing is an open-ended exploration with no fixed outcome or product in mind. In this sense, “Drawing Improper/ Drawing Improper” is a declaration of the outer scopes of drawing practice.

NOW RELEASED Drawing Proper/Drawing Improper by Kevin Hirth @kevinhirth design by Luke Bulman @lbulman essays by Anca Matyiku and Marc Swackhamer @marcswackhamer Drawing Proper/Drawing Improper is a meditation on contemporary practices of architectural drawing through the lenses of 56 artifacts produced by 28 architectural practices from around the world. The drawings respond to a simple prompt: How is the act of architectural drawing dutiful? How can it be mischievous? This prompt, unqualified with a signifying explanation, yielded a wide array of responses exercising across the spectrum of architectural practice from the highly practical to the whimsical. Through the introduction of the dichotomy—dutiful or mischievous—the book’s drawings expose the conflicting values of pragmatism in the production of architecture. By exposing the polyamorous interests of the various practices, the resulting collection is a declaration of the diversity of thought and approach within the field of architecture at large. This book is made possible by contributions by: Current Interests, Perry Kulper, Frank Fantauzzi & Charie O’Green, CJ Lim, Lanza Atelier, NEME Studio, Norman Kelley, Office CA, William O’Brien Jr., The Open Workshop, Outpost Office, T8 Projects, Nada Subotincic, SORT // Studio, Variable Projects, Mark West, Design Earth, Alam Profeta, Studio Ames, Studio Sean Canty, Now Here, Bair Balliet, JaJa Co, CJ Lim, Medium Office, HouMinn, EXTENTS, and Hume Coover Studio.
