For @sosuknits ' Dottie shawl, we dyed two colors on Annapurna: warm coral Winter Sunrise and sweetly variegated Garden Dreams.
The original colors were sent to club members in late Winter, and so naturally we turned to the Earth for guidance to create something joyful and inspiring. We watched the days slowly get longer and brighter as they unfurl from the height of Winter Solstice. We began looking forward to our Spring garden filled with light, pops of color, and more warmth.
The yellow moment of Garden Dreams was created with weld, conjuring the yellow centers of flowers we grow for dye, which are the landing pads for pollinators like butterflies, bees, moths, and hummingbirds. The watercolor-like lavender and blush pink are created with logwood and madder, hinting to the passionfruit vines and to the climbing roses we will see on our redwood trellis, welcoming guests to our home. Each skein is lovingly prepared by hand with great attention to detail and composition. An homage to the care we give our garden to fulfill our Garden Dreams.
Annapurna is a super soft yarn made of Merino wool and cashmere, with a beautiful, smooth twist. A longtime Verb favorite, and the perfect match for Susanne's design.

Floating 20g mini-skeins: perfect for when you need just a little bit of yarn. Add a little colorwork to a project, or combine with other stashed odds and ends for a scrapbusting project.
Floating is our softest yarn, made of cashmere, alpaca, and silk. 87 yards to each 20g skein.
These mini-skeins are now available in our Mother's Day color, Nana. Lavender, coral, and plum, with tiny speckles of hot pink, to honor the softness as well as the vibrant aliveness of mothering and care-taking.
Pick up a mini-skein or two at the link in our bio.
A few years back for Mother's Day, we created the colorway Josephine + Michelle. We try to keep it in stock but to make it requires quite a few steps in the dye studio. Each color is mixed from a myriad of our plant dyes, and applied to the yarn. Then, speckles are applied by dusting a light layer of dyes over the surface. We can only dye a small quantity at a time but the result is worth it!
To celebrate mothering and self-care, Josephine + Michelle is available today as single skeins on Floating and Frond, and in bundles for the Swoop shawl by @romidesigns (pictured).
This color makes an amazing complement to Nana, our 2026 Mother's Day color.
Nana would also make a beautiful Swoop - consider pairing it with Frond Lamb's Ear, Wisteria, or Kishu.

Happy Mother's Day weekend! We have a new colorway in honor of the act of mothering: Nana.
We create this color in honor of the grounded wisdom given and received via mothering and care-taking and is the name used in @adriennerodriguez 's family for the Matriarch of the family.
A few years back for Mother's Day, we created the colorway Josephine and Michelle, inspired by the love Adrienne and I have for our mothers. A light wash of purple floats across the skein and is evocative of the sky at sun set; peaceful, lavender serene clouds float overhead as birds fly overhead. Tiny flecks of hot pink speckles dance across coral pink are met with a strong, glowing gold symbolizing the sun’s warmth, hugs received, and the act of nurturing and the resulting growth. This colorway embodies the aliveness of mothering and includes the cool softness as well as the bright vibrancy.
Nana is very similar. Except in place of the gold, we added a moody, mystical, deep plum purple. Nana pairs beautifully with J&M as well as the entire line of Verb naturally-dyed colorways.
Nana is available on 3 bases:
+ Floating - alpaca/cashmere/silk, our very softest yarn - both as 100g and mini 20g skeins
+ Rumor - merino/silk single ply with crisp stitch definition
+ Frond - mohair/silk, light as a cloud with a warm, soft halo
We hope that these colorways bring you joy and the happy feeling of receiving a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Bundles for @romidesigns ' Charmeuse shawl are back in stock!
An exploration of fiber, color, and fabric texture, Charmeuse is knit using one skein of silk-mohair Frond and one skein of Floating, made of ever-so-soft alpaca, silk, and cashmere. With sections worked in each yarn plus a center panel using both held together, the resulting diamond shaped shawl is a dreamy blend of softness and layered synergy.
The delightful thing about Charmeuse is that it is more than the sum of its parts. Each yarn and color has its chance to shine: sections of gently textured Floating in rose-pink Lady Extravaganza, and airy sections of Frond in peachy Mesa. In the center, both yarns are held together for a panel of simple lace, which creates an elusive third color, the hue of a radiant sunset.
One skein of Floating and one skein of Frond are all that are needed. Which means it is easy to create your own color pairings! A few ideas (pictured on the 3rd slide):

Just added: our 2026 @bayareayarncrawl colorway Fairy Ring is now available on Frond!
Fairy Ring has been dyed with one of our favorite, local mushrooms: Pisolithus tinctoria. The spores of this mushroom are sprinkled over the skeins to create the dark chocolate-y speckles - but as Pisolithus is quite hydrophobic - it has been tricky to understand how to get them to set correctly! On Frond's fluffy mohair wisps, the speckles appear much softer and gentler, but still prominent. Beneath the speckles, madder, cutch, weld, fustic, and a hint of logwood purple come together to create a shifting landscape of color across the whole skein.
Frond has 459 yards per 50g skein and is made with 64% kid mohair and 36% silk. Use one skein to knit an ethereal shawl like Grainwise by @yamagara , or combine with a skein of Floating to knit a Swoop shawl by @romi_designs . Hold it double with your favorite yarn to add a radiant halo to a sweater!
