Folk isn’t just nostalgia or “diddly diddly”. Across the UK, it’s evolving and expressive. Old songs reimagined, new voices emerging, and a sense of community that feels increasingly rare in a very modern world.
At Late Spring, our vision has always been to create a space where that version of folk can be seen and heard. Not preserved, but alive. A platform for artists, makers and local businesses, and a place for people to come together.
Time and time again at our folk clubs, we hear the same thing. People are craving connection. They want to discover music that moves them, and feel part of something real!!

Late Spring has always been about the handmade, the grassroots and the carefully crafted. So when it came to our lineup poster, we did it the only way that made sense to us… two full days, moving tiny cutouts millimetre by millimetre, bringing it to life by hand 😆
This year hasn’t been an easy one for independent events. Many of our friends running festivals are feeling it too. And the reality is simple, these spaces only exist if people choose to come.
If you love these types of events it’s really important, now more than ever, that you show your support by coming along and sharing it with your community!
Late Spring Folk Fest is on 23rd May at Dummer Down Farm. It is a gathering of music, craft and community, with artists including Olivia Chaney, plus workshops, a craft market, camping, and a slow Sunday morning to close it all out.
