Too many mic checks, serenading a horse, and absolutely no sense of direction.
This is your official trailer for our founder series - a behind the scenes look at how Late Spring Folk Fest actually comes together. Less mic checks in episodes to come donāt worry.
If youāre a fan of friendship, silliness, beer and sometimes horses youāll love tuning into the coming instalments. š»
Proof that folk music belongs everywhereā¦
including completely made up jingles.
We asked the founders to improvise a song about the festival and this is what happened.
Late Spring Folk Fest
23rd May at Dummer Down Farm
Is this not what itās all about?
Folk clubs fill our cups and remind us how powerful music can be when itās shared.
This clip is from one of our favourite folk club venues, @thegeorgeatvernham .
If you like the energy here, come along to the next one for some Irish folk at @theoaksmannell this St Patrickās Day. After that weāll be at @thetractorshed_ on the 24th April š
And weād love to see as many of your lovely faces as possible at Late Spring Folk Fest on 23rd May at Dummer Down Farm.
And just like that, another Folk Clubās been and gone.
For a moment we did wonder if the internet might send thousands through the door (mercifully, it didnāt).
The Georgeās doors are always open, but we are a small village pub, and beyond a certain number things start getting⦠cosy.
Thatās the magic of it really. A room full of voices, no stage between you, no spectacle, just songs shared properly between ordinary people.
If you missed this one and fancy experiencing music at The George, keep your eyes peeled. A few more musical gatherings are on their way.
We have released Earlybird tickets for our festival next May 23rd! If youāre stuck for a Christmas present for someone then look no further šļøšš±
