From 9 May 2026, to coincide with the opening of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, one of China’s most prominent abstractionists, the Shanghai-based artist Ding Yi (@dingyiartstudio ), presents a major presentation ‘Cosmotechnics: Ding Yi as a Planetary Code’ at Fondazione Querini Stampalia (@fondazionequerinistampalia ). Curated by Alfredo Cramerotti (@curatorview ) and Auronda Scalera (@aurondascalera ), the exhibition brings together new and historic works that trace the evolution of Ding Yi’s language, alongside a series of stone steles that anchor the exhibition as a place of reflection and ritual, recalling ancient sites across China and Europe. Titled ‘Cosmotechnics’ – a concept borrowed from philosopher Yuk Hui – the presentation transforms the Area Scarpa into a contemplative forest of images, the works operating like a planetary code with their placement creating a meandering path reminiscent of traditional Chinese gardens. The exhibition is presented by the Fondazione Querini Stampalia with the support of Lisson Gallery and ShanghART Gallery (@shanghartgallery ). 🗓️ 9 May – 22 November 2026 📍Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice, Italy 🔗 Explore at the link in bio. ‘Cosmotechnics: Ding Yi as a Planetary Code’ is now on view at Fondazione Querini Stampalia (@fondazionequerinistampalia ), coinciding with the opening of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Since 1988, Ding Yi (@dingyiartstudio ) has painted a single motif: the cross. One of China’s foremost abstractionists, he has made this universal coordinate marker the basis of an evolving, rigorous practice spanning nearly four decades. Presented in dialogue with Carlo Scarpa’s architecture and garden, this exhibition brings together new and historic works alongside a series of stone steles, tracing the development of Ding Yi’s visual language within one of Venice’s most resonant spaces. The title draws on philosopher Yuk Hui’s concept of Cosmotechnics—the idea that technical activity can unite cosmic order with moral life. Here, the cross functions not as symbol but as algorithm: a repeatable micro-gesture that makes time, attention, and relationality visible. The works transform the Area Scarpa into a contemplative passage, their rhythm and accumulation evoking the meandering structure of a traditional Chinese garden. Curated by Alfredo Cramerotti (@curatorview ) and Auronda Scalera (@aurondascalera ). Presented by the Fondazione Querini Stampalia with the support of Lisson and ShanghART (@shanghartgallery ). 🗓️ 9 May – 22 November 2026 📍Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice, Italy 🔗 Explore at the link in bio. UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY to be inside the most beautiful Palazzo in Venice and watch the exhibition organised by Lisson Gallery, Pace Gallery and Perrotin Gallery for the Biennale Worldwide film screening of Ding Yi’s Film on the 5th of May at 6pm at Fondazione Querini Stampalia Happy to be the curator of Ding Yi’s exhibition, with Alfredo Cramerotti @curatorview for @lisson_gallery @shanghartgallery From 5 May during the Venice Biennale at Cinema Querini Stampalia: a one-of-a-kind multiplex where you can watch an episodic film. Opening Tuesday 5 May at 6pm 🥂 In the rooms of Cinema Querini Stampalia, the simultaneous “screenings” include an astro-terrestrial journey among monoliths of this and other worlds with Cosmotechnics: Ding Yi as a planetary code. By Lisson Gallery Nigel Cooke who literally leaps through the Bad Habits of painting, and finally, perhaps everything moves and tunes itself to the notes of an imaginary soundtrack that can be composed through The Invisible Chord. By Pace Gallery Hans Hartung and Music. By Perrotin Gallery Everyone inside everyone’s dream, or just everyone inside someone else’s dream, but certainly inside Fondazione Querini, the cinema you didn’t expect: a peculiar cinematic architecture with the Scarpa, Botta, and De Lucchi rooms inside a 16th-century palazzo. My new essay in collaboration with ZKM @zkmkarlsruhe and @cafaartmuseum , out now. ✦ Code and Cosmos: Media Art Across the Arab World, our latest research, published on @ma21_mediaart in collaboration with @zkmkarlsruhe . From the Gulf to the Levant to North Africa, artists are not borrowing from Western tech paradigms but they are building something entirely their own: code becomes script, data meets land, and digital art is rooted in heritage, ecology, and cosmology. We write about Lulwah Al-Homoud, Turki Alqahtani, Hadeer Omar, Samia Dzaïr, and many others plus the institutions reshaping what media art can mean and for whom. This is a constellation of plural digital modernities. 🌐✦ Read it at ma21.org/en → link in bio. — #MediaArt #ArabArt #DigitalArt #ZKM #MA21

📍 Palazzo Citterio 📅 23 aprile – 14 luglio 2026 #palazzocitterio #grandebrera #mand #ledwall #mostre

#OpenCall: Submit for your chance at a 250€ Der Greif Guest Room Scholarship and have your work seen by Auronda Scalera (@aurondascalera ) and Alfredo Cramerotti (@curatorview ). For this edition of Guest Room, they are exploring "Shifting Thresholds,“ asking how images can articulate forms of displacement, migration, technological mediation, ecological change, or emotional estrangement. This open call explores displacement not just as a physical or political reality, but as a fundamental aesthetic condition in an era of constant flux. By treating images as "seismographs of the present,“ the brief seeks photographic works that inhabit the instability of our social, technological, and ecological landscapes rather than merely documenting them. Whether addressing migration, digital mediation, or environmental change, selected practices will treat the image as a site of negotiation – experimenting with fragmentation, mutation, and ambiguity to translate rupture into new visual languages. Ultimately, the call invites artists to use displacement as a method to challenge fixed narratives and imagine alternative ways of collective belonging in a world defined by motion. Why submit? • 250 € Guest Room Scholarship • Online showcase on Der Greif • Win a Face-to-Face feedback session with the curators 📷 Submit a photographic or image-based series or vídeo work for free or for a voluntary 10 € donation 📩 Via @picter_com Please note: images and videos previously selected for a Der Greif opportunity are not eligible for re-submission. Der Greif is partnering with the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation (@dboersephotographyfoundation ) to support the Guest Room format in funding curator honoraria. #DerGreif #GuestRoom #OpenCall #ContemporaryPhotography

We are delighted to announce that Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti have been appointed as the curatorial duo for the first of the two virtual exhibitions as part of the Tezos Foundation x HEK 2026 partnership. The show will premiere on the virtual.hek.ch platform, opening June 12th, 2026. Scalera (@aurondascalera ) and Cramerotti (@curatorview ) are noted for their collaborative practice across institutional and digital contexts, including previously curating Art Dubai Digital and advising institutions and cultural bodies such as the British Council and Italian Ministry of Culture. Their curatorial concept, 404_LAND, will adopt the error as both its central metaphor and philosophical framework. The full curatorial concept and participating artists will be announced in May. Available to all, the virtual exhibition will also be accessible via a dedicated kiosk inside the HEK lobby throughout its duration, allowing the public to enter and experience the works both within and outside the museum walls. Another key element of the presentation will be the release of accompanying Tezos-based NFTs on the objkt.com marketplace as well as the virtual opening tour with Scalera and Cramerotti.

I’m incredibly pleased to be collaborating with Oxford University @oxford_uni on an exciting new interdisciplinary research hub exploring AI in Education. The Hub, AIEOU, is based at the Department of Education, University of Oxford. As a contributor, I will bring a critical, curatorial, and practice-led perspective on AI as a cultural and pedagogical infrastructure. My focus will be on how AI reshapes knowledge production, creativity, and learning environments, with particular attention to ethics, governance, and Global South contexts. Through this collaboration, I also hope to engage with educators and policymakers to develop more inclusive and responsible AI-driven educational models. Looking forward to engaging with stakeholders from around the world to help shape the global research agenda. If you’d like to join the conversation regarding the design, regulation, implementation, and impact of AI in Education, please reach out. Department of Education, University of Oxford

I’m pleased to share that I will participate in CSW70, the seventieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women, taking place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9–19 March 2026. @unitednations This year’s priority theme, ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, resonates deeply with my curatorial and research practice. Questions of structural inequality, systemic barriers, and inclusive participation are legal and political concerns; but they are also cultural and epistemic ones. Who is visible? Who has agency? Who has the tools to shape narratives and futures? I will be joining as a participant through a curated guided experience with UN Women UK, the only organisation working towards gender equality at all levels of society in the UK and globally. At a moment when progress on women’s rights is under pressure, with projections suggesting a 300-year wait for full gender equality, collective engagement across institutions, cultural sectors, and civil society is more urgent than ever. CSW is one of the most important global convenings focused on gender equality, bringing together Member States, UN entities, and NGOs worldwide. I look forward to engaging with this year’s discussions on justice, decision-making, and the elimination of violence against women and girls. #CSW70 #GenderEquality #AccessToJustice #UNWomen #culturalleadership
