As part of the group exhibition JARDIN PERDU, Auguste Orts’ Fairuz Ghammam will present her short film Cultuur. This warm and generous work explores aspects of (auto)biography, shared authorship, and collaborative practices. Staged as a walk through Kortrijk -the filmmaker's hometown - Cultuur riffs on these themes, sewing kernels of family history through a narrative, and a gaze, that oscillates between private and public space.

JARDIN PERDU
08.05.26-10.05.26
At Atelier Toekomst, an architectural practice where the relationship between garden and building is explored, Jardin Perdu creates a temporary alternative reality. The exhibition forms an oasis of art and expresses a longing for a shared primordial garden, where chaos acts as a counterbalance to the structure of everyday life. Seven artists present their work in the studio and garden: Filip Dujardin, Olivier Goethals, Fairuz Ghammam, Valerie Doutreluingne, Jannah Field, Sybren Vanoverberghe, and Bram Vanderbeke.
Atelier Toekomst, founded by Pieter Billiet and Valerie Doutreluingne, presents this exhibition on the occasion of its fifth anniversary. @billiet_pieter@valeriedoutreluingne

“In response to the exhibition Unforgettable, Women Artists from Antwerp to Amsterdam, 1600–1750, the artists Christiane Blattmann, Manon de Boer, Melissa Gordon, Aglaia Konrad, Valérie Mannaerts, Hana Miletić, Annaïk Lou Pitteloud, Heidi Voet, and Asia Zielińska have created an intervention for the museum’s forum.
Together, they have developed a collective work that articulates their shared position as women artists and their alliance with other artists who were active in these historical periods and social contexts. Art-historical research for this exhibition suggests an uneven ratio: around seventy percent of women artists can be identified and catalogued, while thirty percent remain anonymous due to a lack of records. The group intuitively challenges this figure and postulates that, in fact, only one third of women artists active throughout history have been granted visibility and legacy.
To highlight this idea, the names of 179 women artists identified by art historians are hand-printed onto bicolour, corporeal latex sheets. These specific hues propose an inverted ratio: bright red stands for historical knowledge, while dark red materializes the structural amnesia surrounding women’s labour and contributions to cultural heritage.”
On view at Museum of Fine Arts Ghent (MSK), Belgium until 31 May 2026.

" Dans une ville muette où les écrans s’embrasent, une communauté de déserteur·ses se voue à un étrange sommeil. Las de lutter, un jeune travailleur de nuit se résout à les rejoindre. Depuis cet autre pan de réalité, il récolte des antidotes à l’impuissance au fil de rencontres qui ressuscitent le langage. À son réveil, rien n’a changé mais tout est différent. Swarm est une ode aux collisions magiques et à l’imaginaire comme moyen de transformer le réel. "

𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺 is awakening!
After a long gestation, we’re excited to present the Belgian premiere of 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺 by 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝘀𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗲𝗹 in @bozarbrussels on April 7 at 19:00. Blending mysticism and counter-utopia, Swarm explores how imagination holds the power to transform reality. Set in a mute city where videos of wildfires go viral, the film follows figures succumbing to an enigmatic slumber. A community forms, gathering antidotes to despair and keys to revive language.
For this special occasion, @orso_cael has curated a programme of short films to accompany their work, exploring themes of dissidence, language, and movement, as well as a live performance based on a poetic text.
