Adegbola Gallery presents Aaron Kudi at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, New York, 2026, marking the gallery’s first presentation at the fair. The booth features a new body of work by the Nigeria-born artist, who lives and works in London and is completing his MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, in June 2026. The presentation centers on paintings that explore what it means to remain psychologically and morally present in a world marked by suffering. Informed by Gethsemane, the works paint the residue of suffering through silence, dread, endurance, and the strain of continued witness. Across the presentation, pain appears as something absorbed, carried, and lived with, leaving its weight on the surface. To request the catalogue, please contact [email protected] 📍1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, New York May 14–17, 2026 Starrett-Lehigh Building, Manhattan @adegbola.art @aaron_kudi #154artfair

At Those Terrifying Frontiers Where The Existence And Disappearance Of People Fade Into Each Other Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme work together across a range of sound, image, text, installation and performance practices. Their practice is engaged in the intersections between performativity, political imaginaries, the body and virtuality. Across their works they probe a contemporary landscape marked by seemingly perpetual crisis and an endless ‘present’, one that is shaped by a politics of desire and disaster. They have been developing a body of work that questions this suspension of the present and searches for ways in which an altogether different imaginary and language can emerge that is not bound within colonial/capitalist narrative and discourse. In their projects, they find themselves excavating, activating and inventing incidental narratives, figures, gestures and sites as material for re-imagining the possibilities of the present. Often reflecting on ideas of non-linearity in the form of returns, amnesia and deja vu, and in the process unfolding the slippages between actuality and projection (virtuality, myth, wish), what is and what could be. Largely their approach has been one of sampling materials both existing and self-authored in the form of sound, image, text, objects and recasting them into altogether new ‘scripts’. The result is a practice that investigates the political, visceral, material possibilities of sound, image, text and site, taking on the form of multimedia installations and live sound/image performances. • The exhibition is on view until 15 February. • All photo documentation by Marco Berardi & Baiba Sprance, 2026, from the opening night. • More information about the exhibition, artists and access via our website or link in bio. • With special thanks to not/nowhere, Whitechapel Gallery and Surplus Sounds for technical support! UNCLE PRESENTS: THE ART OF FLYING FREE ENTRY October 31st - November 4th Weekdays: 11:00 - 19:00 Weekend: 11:00 - 17:00 Sunday is free entry, but booking is essential. 1 Quaker Street, Shoreditch, London THE ART OF FLYING isn’t simply an exhibition. Born from an oral history project collecting untold stories of commercial fly-posters active across the UK circa 1973-93, TAOF dives headfirst into the renegade spirit of an urban subculture that lived - and still lives - just outside the lines. We’ve collected twelve vivid firsthand accounts, an initial six of which have been turned into booklets for this ongoing venture. The stories reveal how individuals stepped into the role and their experiences of many years ‘on the brush’: a life and livelihood about which very little is widely known. Taking over three spaces at 1 Quaker Street in Shoreditch, TAOF blurs the line between gallery and the street. Histories come alive through print, postcards, film, audio and talks in an immersive event exploring the maverick and remarkable world of fly-posting. Thanks to @jealous_london , visitors can roll up their sleeves for free public Screen Printing sessions across the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of November. Also happening on the 2nd of November is a programme of Lunchtime Talks by activists, artists and academics. RSVP required. For more information about the event and to get free tickets to the Lunchtime Talks, please visit the link in @uncle_insta ’s bio. Image courtesy of @uncle_insta
