Tra le più recenti realizzazioni a Tirana (Albania), accanto alla centralissima Skanderbeg Square, si distingue per il suo rigore formale e per la delicatezza con cui si aggancia al contesto l’edificio Gallery Roma, opera di Atelier 4 Studio in collaborazione con Texas Development. Il suo volume elegante impreziosito dal rivestimento di ceramica rossa, destinato principalmente ad abitazioni, è attentamente modulato e articolato per dialoga-re con la ricchezza morfologica del quartiere. Un dialogo ulteriormente confermato dal piano terreno permeabile che – attraverso un misto di funzioni pubbliche e commerciali – rappresenta un’estensione della strada. E dunque contribuisce a rendere vivace la città.
Among the most recent developments in Tirana (Albania), next to the central Skanderbeg Square, the Gallery Roma building stands out for its formal rigor and for the delicacy with which it connects to its context. It is a project by Atelier 4 Studio in collaboration with Texas Development. Its elegant volume, enhanced by a red ceramic cladding and intended mainly for residential use, is carefully modulated and articulated to engage with the mor-phological richness of the neighborhood. This dialogue is further reinforced by the per-meable ground floor which – through a mix of public and commercial functions – acts as an extension of the street, thereby contributing to the vibrancy of the city.

Reurbanizacija nije “ulepšavanje grada” — to je vraćanje grada ljudima: pešaku, komšiluku, svakodnevici. Prazni prostori ponovo postaju mesta susreta, a ulice bezbedne i žive.
