Our Spring Summer Open Day is taking place on Sunday 10th of May. These days are always such a lovely way to wander the house and grounds in a slow way with a drink in hand. We will be holding the day in 2 sessions, 3-5pm and 5.30-7pm and are registering attendees to ensure the day remains intimate and comfortable. The excitement of pulling together the feel of the space and the vulnerability of inviting guests in with the hope that they will love it as much as we do. Creating this space has been such a defining experience for us in so many ways. Sometimes it feels like our past lives were lived by someone else. We both spent over 20 years in the design industry, both originally as Graphic Designers. Richard was always keen to work with his hands, building and creating, so working in a studio full time was never going to last forever. My work evolved into art direction and creative execution, but my heart has always been in curation and creation. There are days when I think we couldn’t have taken more of a u turn to do what we’re doing now and I miss the feel of a studio, working on a campaign and all it manifests. But when you spend such a long time answering briefs for a brand that’s not your own, it’s easy to lose who you are yourself a little, forget what you can create yourself. When I look around this place, I see us and our family in everything. Every decision made from our hearts in the hope others would share in our vision. That they would feel the same way about it as we do, that they would trust in what it holds.
