We’ve written a special menu for the day beginning with oysters if you fancy, followed by generous, seasonal plates with a few to share. Join us for lunch by the fire, or come later for supper and make an evening of it. The menu will be served throughout the day. Whether you stay for an hour or settle in for longer, you’re very welcome. Saturday 14th February Lunch & Dinner. A festive winter snack we love from Bordeaux. Lou Ken Kas is often found tucked away in the Christmas markets. A spiced offal’y sausage wrapped in caul fat, set on top of a Colchester rock oyster. It comes from one of Adam’s favourite memories of his yearly trip to the region and is on the menu all week!

What a day at The Greyhound! Three years ago we opened our doors with a few bottles of wine and a great deal of hope. Today we find ourselves at number 6 on the Good Food Guide’s Top 100 Pubs in the country and newly listed in the Michelin Guide too. It feels rather extraordinary and more than a little humbling. We owe it all to the brilliant hands and hearts that make this place what it is and to the guests who’ve eaten, laughed and lingered with us through the seasons. Thank you for every visit, every glass raised and every kind word. We’ll keep cooking the food we love, opening thoughtful wine and pulling local beer week after week with as much joy as ever! @goodfoodguideuk @michelinguide @chefadamspicer

The Claret Club, our next gathering in the Pastoral Table Series, will take place on Friday 12th December in the pub, with the fires lit and the season setting the tone. Adam has written a menu that draws on the traditions of cookery in Bordeaux, using Suffolk & British produce. Each course is paired with a thoughtful expression of Bordeaux – some well known, others perhaps less familiar, but all firmly rooted in the region’s character. There is also a small nod to history. Claret clubs were once a fixture of British dining. Convivial evenings where good bottles were shared among friends and conversation flowed as easily as the wine. To revive that spirit, we are encouraging guests to bring along a bottle of claret they may have been saving. As ever, Willie Lebus will be on hand to discuss any wines and corkage is set at £25 per 750ml. There’s no need to bring a bottle, though for those who do, the evening will provide a fitting menu to enjoy it with and we’re sure there will be some glasses being poured in exchange across tables! If you do plan to bring a bottle, we are more than happy to prepare it for your table ahead of the evening. Tickets are £125 for Food & Wine or £75 for food only. Bookings are now open online via our website. Due to nature of the event, all bookings will require credit cards and tickets will be fully chargeable one week before the event. #claretclub #suffolksupperclub #winedinner #bordeaux @vinetrail @willielebus @chefadamspicer @mayflywine
