So many good things to say about MegaNats. Catching up with all the people, seeing all the amazing lifts and the sense of community we’ve built here. Dad strength shining through, but only for squats & deads. A few more presses with my baccha should have bench come through for the next comp. Highlight of the day has to be the deadlift. Don't think I've ever expressed myself so boldly after a lift. Brothers anthem coming through clutch to bring out the animal in me. Gracias a mi hermano @_mattbartholomew Big love to @piyumiesselle for being so patient and generous so that I could prepare for this comp only 6 months after we were blessed with our baby girl. Thanks to @thirds.co for the videos. As always, simply amazing. Home gym @breakthroughfitness_ @breakthroughpowerlifting

IPF Worlds Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship 2025 M2 U93 🥈 Overall 🥇 Deadlift 655kg TOTAL (PB +9.5kg) S 230kg (PB +2.5kg) B 150kg (PB / NR +2kg) D 275kg Milking this silver medal for all its worth. Honestly it felt like gold to me! Coming into this comp I was nominated 4th and I was hoping I could get onto the podium with bronze. To get silver exceeded my expectations! On the final deadlift I pulled for silver with BW advantage. I didn’t even realise I was pulling for silver and was ecstatic when coach @jacobsofianos told me I came second. Thanks to my coach @_mattbartholomew @assiduous.tp who continues to have a profound impact on me and my lifts. Thanks to the Australian coaching team @jacobsofianos @coachcam_pl @moe_faour for terrific game day tactics and belief in me. Thanks to physio @lulnex @kintsugi.performance for helping get me to the platform a week out. 🎥 @whitelightsmedia.intl

APA MegaNats 2025 🥇 M2 U93 645.5kg TOTAL (+3kg PB) S 227.5kg (+5kg PB / +7.5 🌍) B 137.5kg (-10.5kg PB / -5 🌍) D 280.5kg (+0.5kg / +0.5 🌍) My first comp post bicep repair and absolutely stoked to achieve a Total PB, Squat PB and Deadlift PB/NR—chipped my own National Record for the moral victory. My first comp with coach @_mattbartholomew @assiduous.tp and it was everything I expected it to be and more. Matt’s belief in me gave me confidence (especially to do my first 500 pound squat 😤). Thanks to physio @alex.s.fomin @grounded.strength.solutions for guiding my bicep rehab and speedy recovery. Now we prepare for 2025 Masters Worlds at Cape Town in October. 🎥 @thirds.co @joshtukua

The last seven months have been some of the hardest of my life. I came back from the worst comp I’ve ever had in South Africa only to have my life as I knew it fall apart. I didn’t just lose my confidence. I lost the love I had for the sport. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I lost myself too. There were days I couldn’t get out of bed, couldn’t face the gym, and couldn’t remember why I ever cared about lifting in the first place. There were voices. Some came from others. Some were in my own head. They echoed the same message: That I had already peaked. That my performance at Worlds proved I wasn’t capable of more. That I couldn’t bounce back from rock bottom just five months later. That there was no way I could run Australia’s biggest powerlifting meet and compete in it. That I wasn’t strong enough. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. And honestly, under the weight of all that pressure, I started to believe them. But @_mattbartholomew told me to have a little faith. He believed in me when I didn’t. And right when it counted, I found just enough belief in myself to get my ass on that platform. My goals for this comp were simple: Make lifts. Nail that bloody squat. Hit some PRs. It wasn’t about placings. It was about putting together a performance I could be proud of. Something that showed me, and anyone watching, that the comeback is always stronger than the setback. I went 8 for 9. Hit four PRs. Improved my Worlds total by 37kg. And walked away with an all-time 22kg total PR. Even better, I had my favourite battle to date with the incredible @aussielex This comp means more to me than any medal or title. This one reminded me who I am. To my support crew - thank you. For pushing me when I had nothing left. For telling me to eat when I forgot how. For dragging me back to the gym when I was spiralling. For showing me love when I was doing the opposite for myself. This community picked me up and reminded me of something important. I’m a boss bitch. And I’m just getting started. I’ve remembered why I love this sport. And I’m back. Coach: @_mattbartholomew Dietician: @thestrengthdietitian Gyms: @genfitau and @breakthroughfitness_ 📷 @thirds.co
