These harmonies.... What a beautiful musical world to live in.
It was such an honor to make music with these lovely Icelanders. The evolution from the beginning of the session to the end was so powerful. What began as timid, respectful, restrained singing transformed into full-throated, open-hearted, bold music-making. Hugs, laughter, and kind words shared between strangers. A testament to the fact that this magic ~ the magic of community singing ~ works anywhere. It is a deeply human magic, and it belongs to all of us.

Join us this summer in Northern California for three days of vocal music beneath the redwoods. We’ll be coming together for Sing with the Trees, a campout in Boulder Creek, CA rooted in ancient and contemporary practices of group singing.
Guided by Matt Goldstein (@heartofgoldstein ), Anilee List (@anileelist ), Asher Blank (@asherbl_nk ), and Max Hart (@onbeingmax ), we’ll be gathering a group of 40-70 singers with the intention of connecting with each other and our natural surroundings through both structured and spontaneous song.
