🕊️ It’s been over a month since one of my closest friends, a favorite past love and an amazing colleague (all in One) #ShaunCarrington was killed. We talked that day, the day before, and before, and before…for almost 15 years, there was never a time when @sc1guitarest wasn’t available & we never ignored each other’s messages. Shaun was solid and supportive, he helped me stay balanced during traumas & danger, he loved me deeply (and showed it), he always cared (and showed it), he was humble, he encouraged me to shine brighter, he helped me stay strong and keep going, and I know those who were close to him could (and do) say much of the same. The shift has taught me so much so far, especially about #love and #grief. Shaun has been a rock for me (and many others). He has been here with me since the beginning of my career (we met while working with Jay-Z when I was 22), and learning this new Way of living has been a painful & confusing challenge (to say the very least). I’m so grateful for our memories…the thousands we would laugh about, the thousands I’ll keep close and private, and the thousands others experienced *with* us 🙌🏽 Trying to share The Great Shaun Carrington’s essence in a post, a conversation, a memory doesn’t capture even a small fraction of his power and Love. He was bigger than me, he was both the Sun & the Moon in One with his unique edge & exceptional talent. He was a Scorpio, his depth and strength was subtle yet intense. He was always there in Spirit when he wasn’t there in person, always protective, and real. He’s with us All now 🖤 I hope you find him, too. (He’s at the gates ✨) I pray for his kids, partner, family & friends 🙏🏽 I thank him for bringing us All together (some, again), but I wish it wasn’t like this. To anyone who’s dealing with grief or loss, I Am with you…We have all this Love & don’t know where to put it now.
