happy to have been invited by @amphi.music to put together a mix for their @area3000.radio show, audio forage for this year’s naidoc week.
recorded in lisbon, this is one is special. it’s the first piece I’ve uploaded in a long time and really showcases where I’m at musically. especially lovely to produce something to celebrate naidoc 🔥.

Warmly welcoming Art to episode 342 of Passing Notes.
Art is a Trawlwoolway Pakana man from Lutruwita/Tasmania and co-founder of the event series and music platform Nuyina.
Specialising in a highly refined palette of minimal, deep house, dub techno and ambient, Art’s DJ philosophy is underpinned by patient pacing and subtle, steady builds. His collection brims with the beauty of minimalism, records that demand precise mixing to yield maximum impact. Art’s intentional approach to selection and story build immersive experiences that reward close listening – whether in the deep listening room or on the dancefloor, Art’s sets invite listeners to stay grounded in sound.
This same sensibility extends beyond his DJ sets to his curatorial endeavours. Having played across two editions of Nuyina, I’ve witnessed firsthand the care and consideration Art brings to every event detail. His work with Nuyina reflects a deeply community-minded ethos, one that prioritises connection and collective experience. It’s an approach that mirrors the thoughtfulness of his musical selections, creating spaces where artists and audiences alike feel genuinely valued and held.
Join us live on PBS106.7fm tonight from 8pm!

The Listening Room 23/04/26 with Art
Art Pitchford aka Art is a Trawoolway Pakana man from Tasmania and co-founder of Nuyina, exploring the margins of ambient, dub, deep house and minimal. His sets favour restraint over resolution with slow shifts, softened edges, familiar forms bending quietly toward the unknown.
Deep Listening sessions are not intended to be social events. Please respect our no talking policy throughout the event. Conversations can be had outside or in the breakout space at the back.
A reminder that Deep Listening Sessions are not intended to be social events. Please respect our no-talking policy. Conversations can be had in the breakout space by the back entry.
You are welcome to come alone, as about half of our attendees do. If coming with a friend we encourage you to explore the concept of parallel play.
If you have any questions about this event, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Music announcement!
Deep listening - moving - dancing with @arts.e1 !
Across a decade of playing across Melbourne and Tasmania, with appearances at Revolver Upstairs Fridays, Killing Time, Slow Burn, Hopkins Creek Festival and Moniker Festival, and recently supported internationals including DJ Dustin.
Art approaches the dancefloor as a space to come together, weaving subtle tension and release through considered selections, letting the atmosphere speak.
So so much good sounds to come! Thanks ART!
