We’re celebrating our monumental partnership with State Street — which generated over $665,000 of income for 73 working artists with disabilities! 🙌 The collaboration with ArtLifting brings over 460 unique artworks celebrating inclusive values to State Street’s new HQ at One Congress in Boston and virtually to their global team. The expansive program – including a large-scale art rotation program across 18 floors, high-impact original artworks, custom journals, and art licensing – was designed to engage 20 of State Street's employee networks and visibly celebrate diverse experiences in the workplace. Beyond office walls, the partnership was brought to life with virtual workshops led by local artist Lisa Murphy (@lisajayart ) and at the @DisabilityIN Global Conference and Expo, where we shared the transformative effects of inclusive art programs on State Street’s workplace culture, talent initiatives, and supplier diversity program. As our partnership continues, it underscores a powerful message: when businesses align their environments with their values, they inspire action, create lasting social impact, and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone. 💪 🔗 Link in bio to read the full article on the ArtLifting website! Image Descriptions: 1 - Damiano Austin’s painting Tous Les Bleus displayed at One Congress. What if artwork didn’t just live in a space, but helped define it? Trained as an architect, ArtLifting artist Andrew Reach (@andrew.reach ) brings over two decades of experience in designing homes, offices, and cultural institutions into his artistic practice. Today, he translates that foundation into dimensional works that introduce movement, structure, and energy into the built environment. His process begins with the space itself. He studies scale, light, and how people move through it, then develops geometric forms that feel fully integrated rather than added. The result isn’t just a sculpture. It’s an experience. Recently, Andrew has expanded this practice through in-studio 3D prototyping. This allows him to test scale, explore structural variations, and refine ideas in real time before final production. Supported in part by an ArtLifting grant, this added capability enables faster iteration and the ability to take on even more ambitious, site-specific commissions. ArtLifting partnered with Verizon to transform the exterior of their 48th Street workspace in New York City into a vibrant, large-scale mural installation — bringing the company’s values to life through public art. Located outside the 269,000 sq ft commercial office building, the project reimagines a highly visible exterior as a platform for connection, storytelling, and community engagement. ArtLifting curated and installed three large-scale, hand-painted murals by New York–based artists Laural Hartman (@laural.hartman ) and Aimee Hofmann (@aimeehofmannfineart ). In collaboration with Mural Painter Inc., a NYC-based, woman-owned business, each work was translated into an immersive public art experience at scale. The murals introduce movement, texture, and layered storytelling into the streetscape — reflecting each artist’s lived experience while inviting passersby into a deeper dialogue with the city. By prioritizing local artists with disabilities, the project demonstrates how intentional sourcing can drive meaningful impact — supporting artists, strengthening communities, and expanding representation in public space. More than an aesthetic intervention, the installation serves as a strategic placemaking tool, strengthening brand identity and creating a lasting visual landmark. “Through architectural details, maps, and fragments of information gathered over time, I’ve created a personal visual archive… The mural invites viewers to engage not just with the artwork, but with their own memories and perspectives of the city.” — Laural Hartman, ArtLifting Artist 👏 Thank you to Verizon and Mural Painter Inc. for their partnership in bringing this project to life. Special shoutout to the ArtLifting team — including Bree Lalor, Sadie Shillieto and Alessandra Lourenco — for their work in making this project possible. Studio Stories: Elizabeth Gauss Elizabeth Gauss’s (@egaussart ) work continues to grow in scale, color, and presence, reflecting a sustained commitment to her studio practice and a clear evolution over time. Through ArtLifting, her paintings have been placed in corporate, residential, and hospitality spaces, including MetroNational | Work& Mother Suites in Houston, 25 North Lex by Greystar in White Plains, Revival on Platte in Denver, and RSM Headquarters in Chicago. As her body of work expands, so does her reach — both in the spaces her work inhabits and in the confidence embedded within each new piece. As Elizabeth shares more of her story through her work, her art becomes part of a larger conversation about mental health, disability, visibility, and belonging. “My illness thrives in shame. Each year that goes by since I have been with ArtLifting, I feel that shame dissipating, and I feel myself sharing more and more of my story in the hopes that my art can be an ambassador for mental health recovery.” ✨ Read Elizabeth’s full Studio Stories feature to learn more about her work, journey, and impact at the link in our bio!

Studio Stories: Elizabeth Gauss For Elizabeth (@egaussart ), art has become a vehicle for recovery, hope, and connection. Her work has evolved from quiet, minimal drawings to expansive abstract paintings, with scale and color tracking her growth through recovery and healing. Each piece reflects a sustained commitment to creating work that moves toward strength, presence, and hope. Through her paintings, Elizabeth gives visual form to the experience of mental health recovery — showing how art can hold complexity while also creating space for resilience, visibility, and healing. “I spend a lot of time with each piece trying to make sure that — even if I begin with feelings of unrest or disquiet — ultimately, the work moves toward equanimity, peace, power, or strength. I never want to leave my art or myself in my illness.” ✨ Read the full Studio Story to learn more about Elizabeth’s work and journey at the link in our bio!

Studio Stories: Elizabeth Gauss Based in Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth Gauss (@egaussart ) creates large-scale abstract paintings shaped by rhythm, repetition, color, and instinct. Before becoming a visual artist, Elizabeth spent 20 years as a classical musician in a world built on discipline, performance, and pressure. Today, her studio offers something different: a space for quiet, reflection, and a more sustainable creative rhythm. Living with mental illness and navigating recovery have deeply shaped Elizabeth’s relationship to art. In her practice, abstraction becomes a way to move away from perfectionism and toward freedom, play, and self-expression. “I have found a middle path where discipline can coexist alongside experimentation and play, and that feels really true to who I am as a person.” ✨ Get to know Elizabeth and her artistic journey in our latest Studio Story at the link in our bio!

When was the last time your workplace actually worked for your people? Not just functionally, but emotionally, creatively, and culturally. As expectations shift, organizations are rethinking how their spaces influence engagement, well-being, and performance. The workplace isn’t neutral. It is constantly shaping how people feel, connect, and show up. When integrated intentionally, workplace art becomes more than visual. It becomes a business tool: 🎨 A driver of focus and productivity (+17% in enriched spaces) 🎨 A visible expression of culture and belonging 🎨 A way to reduce burnout and support well-being This isn’t about decoration. It is about designing environments where people can actually thrive. See how organizations are turning art into measurable impact at the link in our bio!

Earlier this month at IFMA’s Facility Fusion, the ArtLifting team had the opportunity to connect with leaders shaping the spaces where people work, learn, heal, and gather. At the IFMA Global booth, our interactive art activation featuring artwork by ArtLifting artist Kennedy Nganga became more than a visual experience. It became a moment of connection. Attendees came together to create, reflect, and engage in conversations about the role art plays in transforming environments into meaningful experiences. Thank you to IFMA for bringing this community together, and to everyone who stopped by, shared a moment with us, and contributed to the artwork. 🎨 Facility Fusion reinforced what we see every day: the built environment has the power to influence how people feel, connect, and thrive, and art is a powerful part of that story. Shout out to the ArtLifting team members who made our participation possible: Kylene George, Michael Korcek, Beth O’Brien, and Mary Beth Sullivan. Special thanks to our friends at IFMA for partnering with us to bring an artful engagement to Facility Fusion: Diana Maldonado, Clarissa Arguelles, Leslie Robinett, Ann Loayza, Audrey Luttmann, Rory Gardiner, TJ Mendieta, and Michael Geary.

ArtLifting partnered with Work& and MetroNational to bring intention, inclusion, and care into the workplace at Memorial City Plaza in Houston, TX. Located within an 18-story office building, the Work& Mother suite is designed to support employee wellbeing through five wellness suites and three private lactation rooms — spaces that prioritize comfort, privacy, and restoration in the flow of the workday. ArtLifting curated and installed a collection of print reproductions by eight artists, thoughtfully integrated throughout each suite. Featuring calming palettes, gentle abstractions, and expressive storytelling, the artwork transforms these rooms from purely functional spaces into environments that foster connection, ease, and a sense of humanity. By embedding artwork by artists with disabilities into an essential workplace amenity, the program makes inclusion tangible — elevating the experience into one rooted in dignity, care, and belonging. “It feels very fulfilling to know my work is being displayed in a Work& Mother suite. Being a part of projects that promote inclusivity, especially in the workplace, drives more inspiration to my art practice. I’m very grateful.” — Addison Barker, ArtLifting Artist 👏 Thank you to Work& and MetroNational for championing thoughtful, human-centered design. Special shoutout to the ArtLifting team — Art Advisor Addi Spearman, Curator Jess Machacek, and Programs Operations Manager Alessandra Lourenco — along with valued project collaborators Casey Zaunbrecher, Jules (Glover) Lairson, Abbey Donnell, Catherine Dykes, Kate Bride, and Anne Marie (Myers) Ratliff for bringing this project to life. Featured Artists: Addison Barker, Christine Nelson, Marc, Laria Saunders, Elizabeth Shanahan, Elizabeth Gauss, Connie Avery, Aneliya Kostova ✨ Explore more about this project at the link in our bio!

On National ASL Day, we celebrate the many ways language and communication take shape beyond spoken words. For Deaf and disabled artists, expression is often deeply visual, tactile, and experiential — expanding how we understand connection itself. 🎨 Laural Hartman (Pittsford, NY) Growing up deaf, Laural developed a heightened awareness of her surroundings, learning through observation, pattern, and subtle visual cues. That sensitivity carries through her work today. Through layered compositions, mapping, and abstraction, she captures the richness of a world understood visually by communicating perspective, place, and experience in ways that transcend sound. 🎨 Erik Jensen (Salt Lake City, UT) Erik’s work transforms recycled computer keys into intricate, dimensional compositions, embedding language directly into the medium itself. Letters, symbols, and hidden messages become part of the visual experience, reflecting how art first became his way of communicating with the world. His pieces turn written language into texture, story, and form. 🎨 Ian Shearer (Seattle, WA) Following a stroke, Ian redefined how he communicates through art, creating work that engages not just visually, but physically. His pieces incorporate texture and braille, inviting tactile interaction and expanding accessibility. By embedding written language and sensory elements into his work, Ian creates space for multiple ways of experiencing and understanding a piece. Today, we honor ASL as a language — and recognize the many forms communication can take through art. #NationalASLDay #ArtLifting #ASL #ArtAsLanguage #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion
