In this little video @irene_estry and I discuss hydration and especially water- good old h2o.
We are 60-70% water and we really need to keep our bodies hydrated especially as we get older.
We are very fortunate in the uk to have drinkable tap water , but it can also contain some heavy metals , hormones , chlorine, PFAs ( chemicals which are used in industries and consumer products to increase durability) and in some areas ,fluoride .
For many years now I’ve been using a Biocera filter ( #notanad ) which I’ve always bought online from @waterforhealth , who are based in Scotland.
The biocera jug , changes your tap water to alkaline, antioxidant, structured with a molecular hydrogen content. It also dissolves pesticides and residues like benzene by using activated carbon and bioceramic minerals.
Mineral or spring water can also be a good form of hydration but always choose BPA ( Bisphenol A is a known endocrine disruptor) free bottles if you’re buying a plastic bottled water . Especially , if a single use BPA plastic bottle has been sitting around in sun the BPA can leach into the water.
Glass bottled water would be a better and look out for brands like Highland Spring who have their 2500 acre of catchment area protected and accredited with the @soilassociation .
Preventing dehydration and drinking water on a daily basis can have a fantastic effect on the appearance of our skin.
Also try a quick swish around the mouth before swallowing water first thing in the morning is said to potentially contribute to a healthy gut microbiome.
Why not try Irene’s morning routine ? A cup of hot water ,lemon ,cinnamon and honey is an antioxidant rich drink to help aid digestion and can boost immunity.

I’ve never been a ‘man with a plan’
Throughout life opportunities would seem to present themselves to me. Right place at the
right time? Or whatever you ‘vibe’ will attract your tribe?
I trained as an actor many years ago and I still do that, to this day….in fact I’m in a film called #pastlife which is out in @showcasecinemasuk on the 20th March ( I think).
But when I was ‘resting’ I found a joy for retail & beauty which eventually led me to becoming a #makeupartist . Ingredients & skincare led me to be more aware and conscious about what I put on my skin and that of my clients. But also what are you consume…? So I strive for balance…
I also loved doing facials for people…in fact the power of touch is so important for me as anyone who has had one of my hugs will testify.
Reiki came into my life about 20 years ago and with that a fascination with energy.
I’ve created my own little protocol for energy facials but wanted to understand and learn more.
The world and his wife seem to now be talking about sound healing where there’s a plethora of courses available from online to in person weekend courses….
Last year I did my research and decided to book on to a 120hour intensive in person course in Spain…which has been going for 30years.

This is not a sudden change in career…as I’ve always done multiple tings…. I’m still an actor, makeup artist , skincare expert, interviewer, co-creator of @probodyglow , presenter….. it sounds a lot but doesn’t everyone do multiple things in their lives?
They’re all just labels.
One thing that I’ve finally understood about myself is that I just want to help people feel good as well as look fantastic!
It’s The Year of The Horse: whether you gallop or plod on …appreciate the journey. I will.
Late to the party….as always….but I do like to make an entrance.
2016….you were fabulous in so many ways, although we did lose a lot of pop icons that year: David Bowie, George Michael and my favourite, Pete Burns - who supplied the soundtrack to my youth with his band Dead Or Alive.
But take a gander at some of these fun moments in time that covers my makeup work, stage presenting and telly stuff.
Hope that 2016 was kind to you too and that 2026 is even kinder…enjoy and relish the moments.
