Remembering foundational experiences and people in my life, I’m so excited to have the opportunity to re-imagine this sea being who feels like a Kelp Forest Faery. I’m walking through the beautiful wind and sailing with the kites at #shipstoshore2026 festival this weekend and what a beautiful spring day it was today, captured in the last slide. I am back again tomorrow with sets starting at 10 AM and going until 1 PM. There is a beautiful, huge sailboat that is moored at Gary Point Park in #steveston #richmondbc having arrived here recently from Japan. It’s a free event and there’s lots of music and activities so please come out and play! The first two photos were taken in either 2013 or 2014 at diversity music festival with an incredible stilt crew that I had so much admiration for and was so excited to be a part of. High Tea by @circusamara 🫖✨ A dream was realized the day Circus Amara debuted this avant-garde stilt tea party extravaganza at the Living Room Stage last summer. In this improvisational street theatre-style show, the performance is shaped by the environment and the people who play alongside the performers. Guests are invited into a nonsensical, dreamlike reality where, if the tea is flowing, the party keeps going! The team was incredibly thrilled and grateful to bring this show to the Living Room for its first time out in the world. ✨INSTRUCTOR HIGHLIGHT✨ “Bring Your Hoop to Stage” @arielamara has been in the hoop and performance game for a while and brought that expanse knowledge to this workshop. We discussed what a performance is, the difference in types of shows, and how to properly show up for a variety of performance types. During the workshop we played with moving in space in different ways. Then we spent time practicing stage presence and how to expand our ideas while creating choreography.🤗 Ariel also was our MC for the showcase and ensured all the performers felt comfortable and safe to perform.
