𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥 is a site-specific installation made in collaboration with the sound artist Marco Colocci @queimada.music during the residency organised by @centrum_for_social_skulptur on The Floating Sea Palace, an enormous old ship that once operated as a Chinese restaurant. Out of obscurity, a storyteller confides in a wreck. Collected remnants of materials found inside and outside the vessel were used to build a structure around Marco’s field recordings, gathered correspondingly. The sounds of the beheaded ship’s body— creaking, leaking, groaning—are trapped in the cobwebs drawn between its parts. Centered under the web-like ceiling of the ground floor, this ghostly giant echoes with the shapeshifting nature of its host, evoking mythical creatures of maritime folklore, inviting us to contemplate on collective memory under a microscopic lens. Ceramic roof tiles, disposed boat parts, silk wallpaper fragments, carved wood panels, chains, rope, water, plants, light, speakers, transducer mic 2025 This piece was developed in dialogue with 𝘈 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮. 𝗔 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘈 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 is a site-specific installation created in the shipyard of Högmarsö in the Stockholm Archipelago during the residency organised by @centrum_for_social_skulptur on The Floating Sea Palace, an enormous old ship that once operated as a Chinese restaurant. Reuniting the vessel with its two huge bronze dragonheads that lie dormant some fifty metres off amongst the industrial clutter of this functional shipyard, 𝘈 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 was made by knotting together mooring and towing ropes found on site. Boats secured, anchored, tied together, ropes extending from the heads of sails, chains, knots, fishing wire, to say nothing of the countless spiderwebs everywhere apparent when the sun highlights them: the shipyard is a network of cords, cables, lines. The longing of the heads for their place on the bow and stern of the vessel seemed heightened by the tension holding everything together. In pursuit of this image, I performed the choreography of a giant weaving spider as a courtship display for them. This piece was developed in dialogue with 𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥. [next post]

𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 Stoneware clays, various slips & glazes, 17x16x14 cm 2025 On mothers. On care. On care education. Some haptic gesture: stability, adaptability, a piece of clay, two pieces of clay, put together, bound if the process is right. Cracks and synesthetic movement. Water, water, not too much water. Tears over bonds. Tears over departures. Fast passing time over collective memory. Press, adjust, retreat, repeat. How do we care in ways we weren’t taken care of? Supposed supplements filling our gaps. Feeling with our fingers and with our tongues. Words to console and to nurture. To build ourselves and our loved ones with all resources at hand. Hands. Children play - and fall - and expect or - should expect - to be mended. Soil, iron, blood, love. Take care.
