switched to a white acrylic slipmat and it’s actually a game changer. way smoother spins, less static, and your vinyl just sits nice overall. but let’s be real, the biggest w is how CRAZY colored records look on it. every press pops way more, especially splatter and translucent ones.
if you care about your setup looking as good as it sounds, this is a must. simple upgrade but it hits different.

“J Cole’s 2014 Forrest Hills Drive Live Vinyl” one of the rarest vinyls in my collection and not only is it number 1550 out of 2014. i got the chance to meet and get this one and the non live version signed by him a month ago when his honda civic got stuck in phx.
The crazy part is no one knows how many even made it out to the public. During the pressing the company that was manufacturing them went bankrupt so people never got their orders. Theirs only a couple in discogs that are on sale for $900+ with no signatures.
This album means everything to me.. but holding a piece this rare from j cole’s discography ? feels wild. Definitely a vinyl that will never leave my collection.

found the 5 year anniversary Swimming viny! last week & had to grab it no hesitation.
this album always hit different for me. it’s not just music, it’s like sitting inside someone’s thoughts while they’re trying to stay afloat. the way mac turned everything he was going through into something this beautiful it never gets old. every listen feels personal.
he really mastered that balance on this one pain, growth, peace, all in one place. it’s one of those albums that you play no matter where you’re at in life.
still remember where i was when i found out he passed shit didn’t feel real. losing someone like that, especially when they were just starting to understand themselves more, will always feel heavy.
rest easy mac thanks for getting me through highschool. this one forever on repeat.

this album is easily in my top forsure, not one song is a miss on this. it’s more polished than his older stuff, but still has that same lonely vibe all the way through. nothing feels forced, everything just flows how it’s supposed to. i’m so happy this LP is in my collection cause it took me a while to find it and for a good price. definitely up there in the $150+ price now. anyways enjoy. 🩸
