my next guest for february’s edition of azul is the infamous kasha t @archetypexo ! someone i’ve been slowly getting to know since the beginning of last year. we definitely crossed paths a few times before that though, somewhere in her twisted™ era, but we were very different people back then. cue 2016.
kasha’s been in the scene since her early 20s, back when the vancouver underground looked and felt very different. watching how far it’s come, and how she’s grown alongside it, has been really special. she’s always been a selector first and foremost. music as obsession, music as lifelong companion.
her ears were shaped early on. growing up, she was very influenced by the late 90s/early 2000s blends of genres where music sort of bled into each other and nothing felt super defined yet. she picked up her first controller in 2011, a behringer bcd 2000 and a few years later started producing and never looked back! initially all analog before eventually making the jump into ableton.
we’re also quietly cooking something together for azul later this year, which feels very full circle. more on that soon.
