@archcollab Architectural Collaborative was honoured to be a part of the Mt Crosby Workers Cottage project, collaborating with heritage consultants @extentheritage@queenslandheritage and @seqwater .The project recently received a commendation in the Australian Institute of Architects @institute_architects_qld awards program in the Heritage category. “The works undertaken to the Drayman’s cottage and the duplex at the Mt Crosby Pumping Station are an exemplary demonstration of best practice conservation works. Investigations were undertaken into the original verandah forms and fabric and repairs were undertaken like for like. The timber cladding and joinery repairs, brickwork conservation, replacement roof cladding and rainwater goods have all been executed to a high standard using traditional trade skills. The paint colour analysis was used to inform the external and internal paint colours. SEQ water should be commended for taking the initiative to fund an authentic conservation of these early and significant workers dwellings.”

So excited to be a part of the development of this new school for BCE in Merrimac. This project will see a new sports court, administration, flexible learning spaces, a canteen, covered lunch area and wonderfully terraced playground.

We love a challenge. At St Johns College Nambour, we were asked to bring to life a 1970’s covered area and create a semi-enclosed multipourpose space whilst retaining the existing structure on a very tight budget. The result demonstrates beauty in every detail as a delicate dance of light and shadow comes through with the new perforated screen.
