August 2025, ARCADEA returned with The Exodus of Gravity, a futuristic synth-rock odyssey set five billion years in the future, in a world where gravity no longer holds us down—literally or metaphorically— but pulsing with the urgency of now. With Brann Dailor (Mastodon) stepping into the spotlight as lead vocalist, ARCADEA dives headfirst into a new kind of psychedelia: groovy, danceable, and emotionally resonant. “Up is down, down is up,” says founding member Core Atoms. That chaos isn’t just part of the story—it’ is the story. And the soundtrack is pure cosmic ecstasy. The Exodus of Gravity doesn’t just explore a post-human world—it reinvents it: Machines breathe. Love returns. Empathy evolves. From the effervescent shimmer of lead single “Fuzzy Planet” to the volcanic fury of “Lake of Rust,” each track is a step deeper into ARCADEA’s lush, electrified mythology. But it’s not all concept and no connection—this album wants you to move your body as well. Dailor says it best: “I don’t wanna look out and see a bunch of guys with their arms crossed. Mastodon drummer-vocalist Brann Dailor’s sci-fi side project Arcadea is back with a second album, ‘The Exodus of Gravity’ — but this time, the duo are getting their groove on, leaning into a synth-heavy sound that’s more dancy than proggy. “Music is music and you’re looking for an evocative response,” Dailor says. “I try to make sure that happens for me.” We talked to him about Arcadea — which features his lifelong friend Core Atoms on synths, guitar, bass, vocoder and more — and their dance-floor swerve.
