“Komorebi” is a Japanese word describing the soft, shifting light created when sunlight filters through the leaves of trees. This interplay of brightness, shadow and movement informs the design of the Ishigaki lamps, whose colours and materials produce an abstract intersection of fabric, liquid and light. Through a minimalist aesthetic that draws from Japanese and French influences, Aki+Arnaud Cooren are known for integrating subtle references to nature into objects and interiors. Now open | Komorebi featuring works by Aki+Arnaud Cooren   The exhibition features new lighting pieces by Aki+Arnaud Cooren, the Paris-based design studio known for serene, dreamlike creations that evoke poignant and harmonious confluences with the natural world. The works on display add to the designers’ Ishigaki collection – an ongoing series of lamps inspired by memories of freediving off the coast of Ishigaki Island in southern Japan.   Like a diver moving through gentle currents, the Ishigaki lamps invite viewers to experience illumination as something alive. These serene, evocative pieces are shaped by two worlds: the quiet shimmer of komorebi and the deep, fluid calm of freediving. They echo the way light softens and disperses as one descends underwater but also the dappled patterns found beneath forest canopies. The Clarus Collective has visited @carpentersworkshopgallery . The official exhibition is opening on the 12th of March. Komorebi by @aplusacooren is featuring serene and dreamlike lighting pieces that evoke a harmonious connection with the natural world. The works belong to the designers’ Ishigaki collection - a series of lamps inspired by memories of freediving off the coast of Ishigaki Island in southern Japan. Also there is Persistence of Form, an exhibition exploring the dialogue between jewellery and functional art through a shared language of composition and form. Bringing together female perspectives from the gallery’s roster, the exhibition highlights practices that move fluidly between functional art and jewellery, showing how jewellery can become a natural extension of an artist’s creative practice. You can also enjoy refined Italian dining at @pollini_ladbrokehall .
