Adresse: Lydens Hus by Symbion, Gl.

One of my most profound experiences this year was definitively staying at the otherworldly Brazilian residency IlĂȘ de Oxum ApĂĄra near Rio in October. The people there, the animals and the surroundings hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for welcoming me and for teaching me about your feminist afro-brazilian history and resistance, for opening up your living archives to me, for introducing me to the Quilombo communities. Thank you a million times @jeannetteehlers for bringing me along and to @statenskunstfond for making it possible. Can’t wait to delve further into the writings of legends like LĂ©ila Gonzalez and Sueli Carneiro, both women whom I didn’t know before but that I’ve learned are and were the coolest feminists, and founders, of much anti-colonial theory in Brazil and South America! More to come from this part of the world! Thank you @ileoxumapara 🧡

Yay this!! Det Lilla Rum is super excited to welcome you all for a community evening with conversation and food. 💜 We’re so happy to invite you to an evening exploring how feminist cooperativism can take shape through solidarity economies and visual art. We’re thrilled to host Caroline Shenaz Hossein from the University of Toronto at Det Lilla Rum during her stay in Copenhagen! Her talk, Soft Power — Weaving Feminist Cooperativism through Art, will explore her artistic collaboration with curators Anouska Kobus and Santino Santillana, and dive into her research on the potential of ROSCAs in today’s society — in a cozy fireside format. Dinner will be served from 17:30, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all there! The conversation will be in English, and everyone is warmly welcome. 💜 October 14, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. About the speakers and collaborators: Caroline Shenaz Hossein is a multi-award-winning scholar and author, Canada Research Chair in Africana Development and Feminist Political Economy at the University of Toronto, and founder of the Diverse Solidarity Economies (DISE) Collective. Santino Santillana (b. 1990, DK/PE) is a visual artist and researcher based in Copenhagen, working through practices of self-organisation and collective empowerment. He studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (MFA 2027). Anouska Ingerdahl Kobus (b. 1993, DK/NL/IDSA) is a curator and art historian based in Copenhagen and Paris, developing curatorial projects that create new forums for critical engagement.
